    there is a jumper on pcb that could be removed to stop the preheat working cant remember which one of the top of my head but will get back to you :D also its the central heating thermistor that controls the preheat temperature as its the central heating water thats stored in the expansion...

    not the best clocks in the world you answered your own question model number is p458 :D i doubt if it works but you could try reseting the clock by holding all the buttons in together for about 5 secs :?

    strange i dont know too much about prices as i never have to buy any parts :P but i know you cant use a 100 on a 80 as the screws dont line up (tried it in desperation ) :roll: its nice when were all friendly dont you think season of good will and all that :D

    the simple answer is that the boards are designed and mass produced with alot of extra resistors and cicuitry which is never used but it is apparently cheaper to leave them on than redisign the pcb without them ! i dont understand the logic behind that one myself but its the same with alot of...

    wish i had one as i got a right ear full when i had to turn some ladies heating off because a previous engineer not a potterton one had broken the bolt and i couldnt do anything but turn it off and label it as per our recent memo !

    i would look to see if your system is so large that it needs an external expansion vesel ! as the built in one on the powermax can only cope with a maximum amount of rads !

    it will if it falls below 0.5 bar ! a good service normally sorts this problem out with electrodes being the most likely problem :wink:
