Need advise with the new house

Thanks misterhelpful. I'll act upon what you've advised. On Wednesday I'm just planning to paint one room which hasn't got any of these issues. Walls are in good condition so a single coat of paint would do the job in that room. I'll have somewhere to live then. :) Joe and Dec, I'm new to this...

Need advise with the new house

I've bought a new house and I'm hoping to start painting it on Wednesday. Its a repossessed house so I'm guessing it has been un-occupied for little while. But it looks like the previous owner had got the work done to a very high standard. However the walls and ceilings has got minor issues...

    Strange thermostatic shower

I'm not sure what you mean, sorry :( I've got hot water tank in the loft and I get hot water in the sink and bath tabs within seconds (as soon as cold water has been run out of the pipes). Even when sink or bath tabs would be running hot water, shower would take quite sometime.

    Strange thermostatic shower

When I got my house refurbished, I got a new thermostatic shower installed. It worked perfectly until recently. For last couple of months, in the morning I'll turn it on and it'll take anything between 2 minutes to 30 minutes before water would come out with a normal pressure. We leave the...

    Internal Telephone wiring

Thanks for replies guys. I think I know were the cable is cut but unfortunately its all under newly laid laminate flooring now. My question is would I be able to run 2 extensions from the BT master socket? The one that's currently going downstairs is working properly. But I need to get at...

    Internal Telephone wiring

Hi guys, I need some assistance with my home telephone wiring. I've got BT master socket upstairs and I've got 1 telephone box downstairs and 3 upstairs but right now only the one downstairs is working. I need to get at least one working upstairs. It seems none of the extension boxes upstairs...

    Need an Alarm

Mr. Expert, I said it clearly in my first post that I was after a wireless alarm! This is the best I could find within my budget, the flexibility of me adding more sensors etc.. afterwards makes it even more appealing. If Yale was as crap as some of the people on this forum make it to be then...

    Need an Alarm

Ok, I've purchased the Yale Premium from Homebase, they've got it at reduced price for just £149 if anyone's interested. Apart from what's in the manual would you experts give me any other advise or those who've been through the pain of fitting one? :D

    Need an Alarm

I know some people here don't like Yale but this one seems quite a good one. What are your opinions on it? Wirefree Premium Alarm http://www.yalelock.co.uk/en/yale/couk/ProductsDB/?groupId=243&productId=7984

    Need an Alarm

I got my house refurbished couple of months ago and I completely ignored the need of having a wired alarm fitted at that time. My inlaws got burgled last weekend and now me and mrs are kinda paranoid and want an alarm fitted in ASAP. I don't want any damage to walls/ceilings etc.. because...

    Corded drill for DIY

Just wanted to share my first experience with an SDS drill. Bought the B&D one against all the advise I got from here. The only reason I went for that was the price difference. Got 3 years warranty so at least got some peace of mind. Drilled few holes in the concrete to put up the blinds and...

    Corded drill for DIY

Thanks for your replies and recommendations guys. Isn't BD one better though? Because its 1000watt whereas the Makita one is only 440watt and BD is costing me less as well even when I add up the extra warranty from Argos?

    Corded drill for DIY

Thanks for your reply mate. I bought a B&D normal drill from Argos but I haven't used it so I'm thinking of returning that one and getting the below one. After reading some posts here I know most of the guys here don't rate BD very well. But I could get 3 years extended warranty for less than...
