pleaase please can someone tell me where the pump should be in my house heating...before or after my boiler? if some could give me an answer in the next few minutes I would be very greatfull

I have a problem with my heating and my plumber says that the pump needs moving from behind the boiler to after it..if that makes sense...is he right? a quick answer would be appreciated as he has just nipped out for some bits
