    Reverse Circulation

Thanks all. The single pipe from boiler IS the combined cold feed open vent. I have "drawn" a diagram of the returns at the boiler. The HW return is right at the boiler. Closed bypass solved the problem with the front radiators. Return pipe hot between bolier and bypass. I'm almost 100%...

    Reverse Circulation

Thanks, I'm really grateful for your time. No its not visible and probably beyond my competence. However, the bathroom radiator is one of the 4 where connections to the feed and return are identifiable in my cellar at the points marked in the diagram. These 4 have never been affected by my...

    Reverse Circulation

Thanks ChrisR. I'm wringing my hands at my day job at the moment! I know it's not enough information, but from the diagram in the original post. What possible scenarios are there? All of the rear radiators are accounted for (no problems with these). Why on earth would the (affected) front ones...

    Reverse Circulation

I really can't see any possibilty of radiator returns teeing into HW return. See my diagram - those affected radiators are at the opposite end of the house from any of the HW plumbing. The boiler is Myson Apollo Fanfare - can check exact model when I get home.

    Reverse Circulation

The HW return is the last connection -immediatley (a few inches) before the return pipe enters the boiler. I agree that it all probably sounds confusing - but these are the facts. Someone asked whether there was a valve on the bypass. Why did you ask? Could this help in the diagnosis e.g. run...

    Reverse Circulation

It is all the front of house radiators that get more than warm - the furthest away ones less so. The flow pipe is only hot for a about a foot beyond the motorised valve (conduction?), the return pipe is hot hot. I have a cellar so have easy acces to the valves etc. The heating flow and return...

    Reverse Circulation

OK, it is the oposite side - should have made that clearer.

    Reverse Circulation

There is a valve on the bypass - which a wheel turn.

    Reverse Circulation

Thanks for replies. I don't think that there can be radiator returns after the cylinder return. My digram is like a plan of the house really. The cylinder is directly above the boiler at the rear of the house and the affected radiators are at the front. I can't think why there would be any more...

    Reverse Circulation

I seem to have the symptoms of reverse circulation as described in these pages i.e. some of the radiators heat up from the return side when only HW is selected. When CH is turned on, they then heat up normally from the TRV side. Hopefully I have successfully added a diagram of the...
