A straight line where wall meets ceiling

I'm far from being a pro but I thin my emulsion paint down when cutting in around ceilings. The bristles of the brush spread easier and you get a good enough line. Downside is you won,t cover it with one coat but its a hell of alot easier! I'm not a massive fan of masking tape and it takes...

filling in a hole in wall

Try a bit of decorators chalk around it and smooth off with a wet filling knife or scraper! You may have to fill the hole a couple of times to get it the way you want it! Some people would stuff news paper around it and fill with pollyfilla but thats assuming the pipe won't get to hot :!:

    false alarm

I'm not bothered I just want to know for the next time. The figure .092x was the theory quoted earlier ie multiply the length of the cable run by .092 and multiply that by two. That figure then should be close to the actual meter reading, for comparison.

    false alarm

actually your right, my meter reads .o1 when probes shorted. What I'm asking is, my readings seem to match the .o92x meter of cable except I seem to be a few decimal points out ie .027 instead of 2.7 no matter what setting I put my meter to it does'nt come up correct ie 20k reads .27 200k...

    false alarm

Forgot to say, I tried this theory out after this topic. I'm not sure how my meter works, set meter to the lowest setting (2k). My cable reading was .027 and the theorys was 2.76, if I put my meter up to the next position (20k) I get .2 reading. Were am I going wrong? when the meter probes...
