Sounds like its not running through it's defrost cycle correctly. If the compressor is running it sounds like you have a gas problem, :cry: meaning the system has lost refrigerant due to a leak. These fridges also have a fan motor to cool the condenser and compressor, check that this motor is running and clear away any dust and crap that may have got sucked...

The compressor is inside the black dome that you can see. the actual compressor sits on springs inside, and the clunk you hear is when the compressor stops under load, the springs are there to absorb the sudden stopping of the motor. :lol: I can only suggest that the springs are becoming worn...

The thermostat operates from the fridge temperature, so because the fridge isn't getting cold the thermostat will keep calling for cooling, so the compressor keeps running and the freezer keeps freezing, hence your -35 degrees :lol: Personally I wouldn't repair it :cry:

Ring Halstead technical service, they are very helpfull and if the boiler is less than 2 years old and a part has gone faulty they will fix it FOC. :D Trust me ,they have just fixed mine :lol:
