    Is it me . . .

Your right it does look similar if not slightly smaller. Probably doesn't use the same pcb or controls as the galaxy and probably for cost . Last time I checked galaxy rkp was bout 90 quid. remember Honeywell pretty much own everything now Looks good for the money but i ve not really had...

    Home Security Project

With seven PIRs i'd definitely be going for a 3.2ah battery minimum. Ok you don't have any power cuts but for the cost difference you may as well upgrade. Bear in mind if the mains and battery do fail the outside bell will ring making you popular with the neighbours. I agree with breezer...

    optima compact 6 zone

It should do otherwise the bell box battery needs replacing as well. Best thing to do is disable the battery at the siren e.g remove the wire from the terminal. Bell should ring when you open cover if not more problems. Then power down panel main and battery , remove panel , fix new panel test...

    Bell box symbols

RTN is generally tamper return. TRG is trigger the former is a continuation of the negative feed through the bell tamper back to the control panel. The latter is usually a switched negative fed from the control panel which activates the bell. More info is required for a definitive answer e.g...

    Mains wiring an old alarm.

Flex from the panel to FCU and i'd be surprised if the FCU was not still wired in the consumer unit so it should just be a case of powering it up. However depending on how long since the system was used it will probably require complete re programming. Do you have any codes for the system ?

    cable from outside junction box

Do you mean the master box ? Technically yes. But I wouldn't advise it as this is BT s wiring and if you mess anytthing up and call them out they will charge you severely. Best bet is to take it from the master scoket

    Alarming a Conservatory Zone

Best advice is to use a good quality dual tec sensor. These operate on microwave and passive infra red. Then ideally the sensor should be angled away from the glass and back towards the house. Not always possible in a conservatory but will reduce likelihood of ubnwanted alarms.

    Freed doctor 'can quit Australia'

Maybe they feel like that and I see your point that is why we need to be seen as a peace keeping force and not a mercenary one. Given the support of the UN and the like we would achieve.

Im all for that mate just as long as we still standby our principles and don't bow down to terrorists and dicatorships. My concern is that this is not conventional warfare but one of underhand and horrific actions how can you reason with someone who is convincede by taking their own life and...

    Freed doctor 'can quit Australia'

Not a problem this is an issue where there are many different issues and angles on those so it can get heated. I'd love a partial evacuation of British troops but until we get the assistance we so dearly need form the other EU members we cannot. Tim if I could answer that question my views would...

No it's not a competition I just thought in a serious debate like this you would acknowledge that some of my points do bear merit. As for we my primary concern is the british Armed forces. The americans have a part to play too of course and I can't argue your point regards friendly fire issues...

That the best you can come up with ? No but they do have access (thanks to iran) to surface to air missiles, RPG's , roadside bombs (indiscriminately killing not only our soldiers but they're own civilians). Not to mention the various d***heads who blow themselves up in crowded places. We...

    Freed doctor 'can quit Australia'

That's all very well and I agree tit for tat is not the answer. However as said before we are at war and measures have to be taken to protect our homeland security. As for just withdrawing from Iraq that simply is not possible. If a total withdrawal was ordered tomorrow the region would go into...

Well said stulz and softus another balanced and well agrued case. IMO is it is because of liberals such as ellal that we are being blocked in our efforts to overcome a very real threat posed by citizens of our own country intent on bringing bloodshed and horror to our shores. As people have...

And your point joe 90 is what ? On that logic shall we not install a fire alarm cos it's highly unlikely my business will burn/ be burnt to the ground ? Harden Long came here to an advice forum for advice and that is what we are providing. Maybe he won't be burgled but most people are...
