Advice on slate roofing problem please guys?

indeed the flashing is running under the slates marshman... Im guessing from where a previous botch repair has been done? However the leak is apparently above the second window away from the gable end in the bottom picture. It also confuses the issue because so many tiles have slipped and...

Thanks guys. masona - I agree, the roof is indeed repairable with quite a lot of labour cleaning the tiles and so on. Works out cheaper to buy new tiles by my calcs :?: noseall - Im into the slinging bit  and I agree something like Marley Moderns would be less work.... But Im...

Now the room is plastered all round with no access hatch into the roofspace so I am having to make...

    Cost of re-roofing a semi

As per the moderators post above....it doesnt really work trying to give 'ballpark estimates' because there are many factors that cannot be accounted for without seeing the property. Sorry :?

ok guys Heres the problem! The answers: I had a Bosch Worcester Greenstar 25si.....almost all new radiators...powerflush etc etc installed about 8 months ago by a pair of Corgi plumbers who did (it seems) a decent job. The old system was tank fed and the pipes were just bridged up in...

How much is a fair price to repoint a 3 bedroom semi?

It seems you have far too much time on your hands looking at your post count  A simple... No prices allowed would have sufficed (from a moderator or some one in authority) I dont see whats wrong with asking what a fair ballpark figure is for a simple job like repointing? its...

    Painting a cement rendered inglenook

Tiling would be my choice for sure. But if you are painting it, I would leave it 48 hours to set at least. Then apply a few good coats of unibond to seal the surface, and then your preferred paint. You would be best seeking advice in a Good specialist paint shop on that one if your unsure.

Well. I bought some of that Domestos sink and plughole unblocker to see if that would clear this damned blockage. It smells like mighty mighty strong bleach  Anyway, I followed the prescribed instructions...left it a fair bit longer than the prescribed 30 minutes...and... bingo...

beneath the bathroom floorboards stinks !!

 to the bad breath bit it could be the remnants or a previous leak that was not cleaned up properly. Might be wise to don a mask and suit and clean around the suspect area. Then seal er up good and tight so cant smell it

Best way to unblock bath waste drainage pipe?any tips please

with hindsight Yes! an access panel would have been a good plan  and the drains ARENT blocked ;) but the bath waste pipe is! The sink empties like a volcanic whirlpool and if I fill it up, plug out and turn on the taps it doesnt back up so Im confident that its not a problem in...

Best way to unblock bath waste drainage pipe?any tips please

Hmm, thanks for the info mate. I was trying to avoid having to take the bath sides off as I had to make new custom bath panels and they will be a major pain to remove. With that said it looks like Im going to have to :? Im just not sure if there is also a blockage further downstream...

ok guys. Ive been renovating this house for the last 12 months (what a PITA) but anyway Ive just tarted the bathroom up as I've now moved in. I noticed straight away that the bath drains off really slowly and after a bit of investigating can clearly see what can only be described as 'orrible...
