    Vertical vs Horizontal radiators

not necessarily, all radiators will have a quoted output so just go by that. I always oversize verticals by 10-20% as they don't generally heat very evenly. The more "designer" it is , the more useless they seem to be at actually heating the room

if you have arcs of sludge in rads and hardened deposits inside pipework then you need a powerflush, as long as its done properly, good chemicals heated up past 60C will break down the sludge and make it easy to flush out. Mains flush is ok if the system is relatively clean but you want to...

    Powerflush?

    Flow rate vs boiler size

I would not fit an unvented cylinder with 18l/min incoming. Bare min 20l/min and 2 bar dynamic. You could look at options of improving the main, but now your talking about stuff you really need a site survey for options.. honestly though how often will you really need to use 2 showers at...

    Flow rate vs boiler size

I usually recommend a boiler that will supply around 75% of the flow rate in hot water. so in your instance something supplying 14l/min or less. we cannot tell you how many kw required for your showers as you didnt supply the flow rate.

Are BG quotes getting more competitive ?

I've been to 2 people to quote recently where BG have quoted, one was to replace a 12kw heat only boiler like for like in same location. BG quoted £3750, I told the customer that she should keep her Ultimate FF as it was a good boiler and it wasnt at risk just cos the electrical cover was a bit...
