Box screed sand and cement - internal

Thanks Keep thinking of a speedskim, about 900mm, would that be a good shout? Lay on with the 14, then flatten with the 900mm, then polish/flatten again with the 14? The trowel i'm using isn't new, i've used a fair few times, quite possibly not fully in worn in yet though, as i only do a...

Box screed sand and cement - internal

Oh, one more.... Is it worth getting a cheap trowel to do sand and cement render, so as not to scratch my nice one for top coat? Thanks

Box screed sand and cement - internal

Ok, makes sense, so basically once finished all the screeding there would be four low spots where the four bits of wood/pb were, which would then be topped up with a little mortar? Can I ask why? My trowel is 14inches i think. I'm not certain i quite follow, which bit is there not much point...

Box screed sand and cement - internal

Looking to try and improve my plastering - slowly getting there. Next job is to fill in a doorway bricked up with celcon blocks. I'm using sand and cement - to a mix of 5:1. I've done some chase filling and other large holes with this mix, seems to work and i can get it flat. I've been reading...

    Is this a supporting wall?

After a little insight please, if possible. I want to remove two walls in a bedroom to make it a bit larger. My neighbours with an identical house have done this, so i know its possible. What i dont know is whether they've just taken the walls out, or introduced extra support. I appreciate it...

Hanging kitchen cabinets on uneven wall

Easier to use angle brackets? 90 deg, one leg screwed to the cabinet and the other then to the wall, obviously L-shaped brackets, not equal length legs.

    New Kitchen waste

Silly question maybe: Do i put a bit of plumbers mate between the two metal parts? That is, the circular ring where it goes into the sink bowl, not underneath - theres a washer that goes underneath, but nothing on top. Thanks

Never used hardwall, but i've already got a bag of bonding. Assuming with a bit of pva it'll be ok though? Also, before skimming the old exposed render wall (just the bottom half before a full skim), would i PVA that?

Yes, going to start again with everything, the stuff that its in there isn't just totally unnecessary, its also rubbish quality. Having said that though, is it strictly necessary to replace the strainer thats there (on the right hand side), surely the new trap would just screw to it? Thanks

Thanks for that. Unless I'm misunderstanding, the waste strainer in the 1/2 sink is much bigger than the main bowl. You can also see that in the picture above, it looks like the strainer you listed above would just go straight through the hole!

I currently have a food waste disposal unit that i would like to get rid of. I also have a washing machine to connect to the 1 1/2 sink. I think one of these to do the job...

    Skimming thermalites

Just after a little advice, I have two questions if thats ok (probably more to follow though). I have removed wall tiles and in places the skim coat has come off, revealing the backing plaster, and in other places removed the skim and backing plaster, and in other places its just removed the...
