    Decommission rainwater downpipe

    1. So what would i do in this instance then, i could put something over the pipe and seal it in? My only concern was if the drain did fill up with water it wouldn't have anywhere to go. Having said that, if that happens and theres nothing sealing it, either way i guess i have a problem to sort...

    Decommission rainwater downpipe

Hi, I currently have a rainwater downpipe going into a clay 90 deg bend, then into pitch pipe, and then onto (we assume) a soak away. The clay bend is blocked solid, and when i dug around to expose the pitch pipe i put a hole in the pipe (accidentally), and its half full of silt and not draining...

Baxi Bermuda & back boiler - tiling behind

Following on from this.... The fire was never installed level, is there anything that i can do about this myself? There seem to be two adjustment bolts on the bottom, hopefully the picture shows that the RHS is lower - and that the bolt is adjusted longer. But the plate that they are sat on isnt...

Baxi Bermuda & back boiler - tiling behind

Sorry if my terminology is incorrect. I mean just remove the front cover, thought this was the fire front. The model I have is the bermuda and pw5 Thanks for all the help, still not certain i should be taking the front off now to tile though!?

Baxi Bermuda & back boiler - tiling behind

Just a quick question (hopefully) I have a wall hung baxi bermuda and back boiler that i want to tile around and behind. I know how to remove the firefront easily enough (which a gas fitter said i could do as it doesnt involve touching the gas supply). Can i remove the wall hanging brackets...

I'd still price it up though, might surprise you, could potentially add value to the house when you sell if its a decent job etc

    Metal sheds...

I had a job lot of bricks free of charge, so i built a brick one... My advice would be to look around for people giving away bricks (seems to be a few round here). If you cant get enough to build four walls, build three out of block (paint or render) then build the front in brick (or the side(s)...

Spurring off a single socket in each room

Assuming my walls are five inches thick, that means i can go to just over 20mm deep then? The sockets are next to each other as well, so the distances of the chases are no more than 10cm. I am fairly certain the circuits are all RCD protected, but i will check first. Thanks both :)

Spurring off a single socket in each room

Thanks, this is actually helpful, as i had (not an exaggeration...) two sockets in a 30 foot lounge, one single socket either end... So I wanted much more sockets, but could only add three each end (single to double then a double spur). This way i can just extend the ring along the wall, and...

Spurring off a single socket in each room

How would this work? Take one of the original cables from the ring into the original socket, new cable from same socket to next socket, then new cable from second socket back to the other original cable from the ring? Would you connect them with terminal block then in the original back box, or...

Baxi Bermuda back boiler - kettling - worth flushing?

Ok, both very helpful posts thanks :) I assume that since i am not gas registered that i cant change this part myself? I'll have a look online for the manual, or see if i can find it here (hopefully the old owners left it somewhere!) Thanks
