    SPLIT: Adeellis stat

Hi Bigmart. The ES1 thermostat delays the start of the heating by 15 minutes. The button over-rides this function. So. 1. If you want the heating to come on immediately - press the button 2. If your heating is timed, set it to start 15min earlier and leave the button alone OR 3. Buy...

    Heat Line Combi

Sods law mate, had a worcester 924 with a dodgy diverter valve about 3 months ago, sorted it with a 5p piece and some insulating tape temporarily. Its still working like that.

    Heat Line Combi

Thank Agile :) PS. Expansion radiator?????? Do I assume you drain a rad then partially vent it to emulate an expansion vessel?

    Heat Line Combi

Had a job today to fit a new heat exchanger to a Heat Line Combi boiler, it had burnt the fins clean off the heat exchanger. I changed the stats at the same time and the gas pressures seemed fine but something still isn't sitting right with me about the job. Has anyone else seen anything...

    Vaillant Ecotec pro 937

Have a job in a week to fit such a beast, if you can wait I'll let you know how it goes. It's new on the market so not many faults (yet?)

    Vokera Compact Boiler

I think you should remove the restrictor on the cold water inlet to the heat exchanger. I've done two today for very similar problem's. Think I'm going to yank the restrictor out of every one I come across from now because they cause more grief than good.

    Blocked flue

A chimney sweep wont be able to unblock that type of flue as you'll most likely have a twinwall flue. My advice would be to get the lot ripped out and replaced. These Warm Air Units are past their best and cost a fortune to repair. If your engineer wont return your calls then I doubt he'd be the...

    worcester 9.24 central heating combi

Altecnic vessel is the big red circular drum inside the boiler and right now it's rarer than the holy grail around here, it is the main cause of breakdowns on this appliance at the moment

    thermo shower prob

if its old (bahama or genesis) then it needs a new flowswitch (they get furred up easily). If its newer (80e or 105e) then its likely that it needs a new flowswitch diaphragm (rubber, they warp with time). both jobs need a CORGI cos they are far from straightforward. sorry.

    thermo shower prob

sounds like there is not enough flow from your shower to activate the boilers flowswitch, what make/model of boiler have you got?

    worcester 9.24 central heating combi

I agree with CLF, sounds like your HT lead is shorting (ie the spark isn't getting to where it should be to ignite the pilot) Unfortunately as this involves opening the combustion chamber it is a job for a CORGI. Incidentally I have loads of 9.24 electronics around our area (C.Scotland) and...

    low pressure after replacing radiator

you will need to identify, 1, the valve connected to the cold mains and 2, the valve connected to the heating return pipe. Normally there will be a silver braided pipe which connects the two. (although this SHOULD be disconnected after topping up.

Heating is contantly on - thermostat broken?

Sounds like you have a stuck microswitch in the central heating zone valve, but really you should have a competent person (a CORGI) look at it. If your boiler is an Ideal Classic SE15FF then its not a combi.

    CH Layout Question

Biasi are cheap boilers fitted by tradesman who want maximum profit from an install then want nothing to do with the maintenance... If you are letting the property go for something with a better history, if budget is a consideration i'd even go so far as to say Alpha boilers.... What do the...
