    HDMI Cable

Why do I not understand how digital/binary 10101010's get transferred along a cable and they either get there or not just because I own an expensive cable? I agreed in my earlier post that there is no difference betwenn my £50 and £10 leads. But I don't think people should but the cheapest...

    HDMI Cable

I have quite an expensive (£50) QED HDMI lead and its really no better than another one I got for £9.99 But a £2 lead...... I don't think I'd spend much less than a tenner on a lead to connect a £1000 TV to a £200 Blu Ray player!

Is upstairs tap water OK to drink?

Thanks. It sprays everywhere and has a good pressure behind it! Doesn't taste as nice as downstairs though!

Is upstairs tap water OK to drink?

Is the cold tap water in the bathroom up to drinking standards? Really what I want to know is.. Does it come straight from the supply or does it come from a storage tank in the attic or something? I realise that you have the hygiene issue with being in the same room as the toilet!

    Adhesive for out building floor

Thanks for your detailed advice. The floor was a concrete floor layed about 1950 when the house was built. It is a shed about 3 foot from the house. We had the floor screeded just to level it up as the concrete was very bumpy with large scalpings. The ceiling was plastered and electricity...

    Adhesive for out building floor

Hi, I am tiling the floor in an out building and want some advice on adhesives. The floor has had a new concrete screed put down. There is no damp course in this outbuilding but it has no visable signs of damp or water. I am using ceramic type tiles. In the past I have used a BAL flexible...

    Wrong fuel

If you have got time and the know how to drain some of it out I would give it a go. My local garage charges £150 plus a full tank of fuel to do this. 4 litres out of 70 doesn't seem that bad (6% petrol) but I think if it was me I'd pay my garage rather than take a gamble!

I know this is an old post but I want to add some relevant info that will help others with this problem. Firstly I found this post and I followed the instructions and I managed to open my bonnet. To get the male and female sections of the star back together I removed the lock and the...

    Grouting tips!

Hi, Has anyone got any novel ideas or tips that make grouting a tiled floor less messy? Such as something on the lines of those things that put icing on cakes? At the moment I mix up the grout and apply it into the gaps with a spreader and use my finger to give it some shape. I do about a...

    Which adhesive??

I was recommended BAL on here when I did my bathroom floor. I have no experience with tile adhesives and just rely on you guys to tell me what to buy. I guess the main ingredient cement, is cement at the end of the day.
