    Water Penetration New Build

Just back from a week away and checked to see if it had dried out any further. Seems not…… we have some little friends appear.

    Water Penetration New Build

Well that's my knowledge gone up a level. Would never of thought that. They have probably gone with the cheapest option knowing the new house builder. Do you think i need to do anything once dried out? does the polystyrene need concrete back over it so it cannot be seen or is how it currently...

    Water Penetration New Build

Site manager agreed to cut the damp skirting board off yesterday so we could atleast see if anything was going on and give it a chance to dry out using a dehumidifer. I said we would leave it for a few weeks and monitor before being comfortable to repair the skirting and plaster board. PS...

    Water Penetration New Build

I've highlighted in red where the damp appears to be. Would it be highly plausable to say the insulation could have been wet but has since dried out and now the bit which I've seen when using my camera seems to be that section of wood next to the red spot which may be the last bit to dry out?

    Water Penetration New Build

I'm in Lancashire, Darwen. I've been in since December last year and whilst we have had some terrible weather, there has been no signs of pooling water. When we initially moved in, the garden was a mud bath so all out garden furniture, storage boxes for cushions and so on where stored down the...

    Water Penetration New Build

Where is the water draining to if i install those drains? Do i need to do any further work or is it a case of creating a channel all the way down the side of the house, install the drains at the required level and leave as is?

    Water Penetration New Build

Would it be worthwhile removing the damp skirting board to get a better view and also to help the drying out. I'd imagine if the MDF skirting board has 37% moisture in it, it's going to take some time to dry out! As above, maybe remove the skirting board or cut a portain of it out where...

    Water Penetration New Build

On Friday evening, I noticed some slight discoloration and changes to the skirting board in one corner of the room, which prompted me to investigate further. I purchased a damp meter, and when it arrived, I tested the area. It gave a reading of 37% moisture at the point of concern, with the...

Ok good stuff :-) Thanks again, much appreciated!

ESI Wired Thermostat to Tado Wired - 2 Zones (DATA CABLES)

Good Morning @RandomGrinch I'd like to say thank you very much for helping me over the last couple of days. I followed the instructions for the risk free test and the boiler/heating kicked in. I then decided to try the Tado and wired it up as you advised. It did indeed work as expected...

ESI Wired Thermostat to Tado Wired - 2 Zones (DATA CABLES)

Ok fair enough. I only ask as I was told ESI don't use simple No/Nc signals but rather a proprietary data bus system which is why simply swapping the wires/stats wont work. It's not my field so I wouldn't know for sure what you can/cannot do. :)

ESI Wired Thermostat to Tado Wired - 2 Zones (DATA CABLES)

Explained like that makes it easier to understand. ESI list there's as similar by the looks of it.

ESI Wired Thermostat to Tado Wired - 2 Zones (DATA CABLES)

Will give that risk free test a go later on then :-) I think Tado don't help as they have the 240V warning on the back of the themostats!

ESI Wired Thermostat to Tado Wired - 2 Zones (DATA CABLES)

I'm comfortable changing them. What is the worst I can do if it didn't work?

ESI Wired Thermostat to Tado Wired - 2 Zones (DATA CABLES)

@RandomGrinch Sorry to keep asking but I am getting conflicting information which is making me not want to do anything incase it then costs me more to rectify. What is the worst that would happen should I do it and it not work? Just put it back as was? Someone said --> There is definitely 240V...

ESI Wired Thermostat to Tado Wired - 2 Zones (DATA CABLES)

Sorry for the persistent questions. Just wanted to make sure I'm not going to make it go kaput. Based on the PDF link above, is 5V going to the PSU/PCB from the stat and then 240V is going to the boiler? I mean the Tado power requirements state the below so there's no reason as you say to...

ESI Wired Thermostat to Tado Wired - 2 Zones (DATA CABLES)

Do I need to consider whether the switching circuit in/from the boiler is low voltage or mains. My thermostats might not need 240V but the wiring to the boiler could be carrying it? Edit - This may tell us https://media.plumbarena.co.uk/uploads/files/2023/03/13/ESRTP6C-Installation.pdf

ESI Wired Thermostat to Tado Wired - 2 Zones (DATA CABLES)

Well, you know what I'll be doing tonight :-) Makes sense now you say it regarding a neutral not being present. Had I had the mains wires instead of cat 5 data cables, I assume this is when I would need to mess about with the wiring center which I've come across quite a lot on my forum searches...
