    don't think I can help much then. if on a VR you can set hot water part load in D.77 to range rate to suit the cylinder coil but I don't think it works with standard controls but still worth a try I usually set it to 12Kw (factory set at 30Kw)

    thanks DIA even i wouldn't go that low!! i'd start at around £1900 for a 28kw potterton combi, a vaillant 831 for around £2.1k, an 837 £2.3k

    sorry my bad typing!! thermistors x 2 are located in the lower section behind the control panel/pcb they are wet pocket type, so to do anything other than swap the wires over, will mean the water will need to be turned off at the inlet (blue tap on 4th pipe from left) and the heating...

    depends on the 102 you have, the modena 102 suffers from issues with the thermistors, over heat sensor and the venturi thermistors can be swapped round to check overheat can be taken off pipe to check and the venturi is simplest to just change BUT last 2 ARE IN COMBUSTION CHAMBER SO RGI NEEDED.

    @dizz, yes i've had a few issues with those double sockets and now don't buy them. buy from TLC now as although still cheap switches are slightly better quality and their cable is cheaper too!

    i always run ebus and 240 together from boiler to switch on wall in a 5 core then seperate from there to stat/time etc never had an issue with it
