    Photo editing programme

Just get another machine and install an earlier version of windows on it, then use it for your photo printing. I had the same problem with a very expensive scanner and as there was no way round it I resorted to another PC.

    Freeview in place of Sky.

The spiderbox receiver will decrypt MANY different services from many package suppliers in europe. The cards supplied, like a sky card, allow access to encrypted channels.

    Speaker advise please!!

Lucid, that is sound advice ( no pun intended ) One thing i noticed is the Maplin speakers share a common power supply/amp module so may suffer from psu issues at high output levels, No better than a cheaper alternative ??

    Speaker advise please!!

I did think long and hard before i shelled out my hard earned cash. I checked out the Maplin ones but the Frequency response is just about the same as any other amp/speaker combination. If you get a chance to listen to a good set of studio monitors you would think again about buying a cheaper...

Can unscreened coax cause lcd tv splutter ?

Just a bit of information... A log periodic consists of many aeriel elements each tuned to a different frequency. from low ( long elements) to high ( short elements ) In operation the elements behind the "active" elements act as REFLECTORS and the one in front act as DIRECTORS. So as the...

Can unscreened coax cause lcd tv splutter ?

The aerial you would be best advised to get is called a "log periodic" this gives you the wideband reception required. HOWEVER in the loft is possibly the worst place you can have ANY aerial. Outside in free space ( as far from everything as possible ) is the only place for any aerial. Bear in...

Lucid.. can you explain this draining of energy you refer to? I have never heard of it. Blocked and trapped would appear to be totally opposite ?

    perimeter detectors

Might sound a bit simple but why not just turn on the chime function for your outside doors. It wont stop them from cutting their way in but will alert you when the door opens. Probably send them scuttling away too.
