Top immersion heats the top half of cylinder only, bottom one heats all of cylinder, you need bottom one working to get enough water for a bath so it is probably the bottom immersion which has gone wrong, you will need to check electrics to this.

Take off grey plate and look behind pump at about the same height there is a reset button you probably can't see it from underneath.

Most cisterns have internal overflows now which flows over the syphon into the pan, which would give you the symptoms your getting. Does your cistern have a overflow pipe to the outside?.

Look up underneath on right hand side, i think these boilers have a reset button which is a rubber button in a square box, try pushing it.

New board then, IMHO, tap the board lightly with handle of screwdriver and see what happens.

Most likely the pcb has a fault, if it is still sparking after pilot has lit. Check for 240v across white and blue wires on board, if there is 240v there. it is likely to be a soleniod fault.

Just a thought, there is a small wire in the centre with a plastic sleeved connection which gets in the way when removing parts and can get slightly disconnected which would give you your problem and that light, check to make sure the two spade connections are tight.

This model is prone to plate ex blockages, remove and clean easy job two screws.
