Hi, we have the above boiler for about 10 years. We have no heating or hot water. The flame out indicator is not lit, the pressure is up (although it had dropped). We have tried the Hot water separately from the central heating and still the boiler does not fire. YOu can hear the gas reaching the system but there is no firing. Any help would be very much appreciated.

You can hear the wooshing sound which preceeds the firing of the boiler - I assume this is the gas. sorry not to be more technical in my reply.

The only time when gas could make a sound, is when it ignites.
If you are sure it does not ignite, my guess is that you hear air/water circulate, which could mean the flow/waterpressure switch does not prove. This could stop the boiler from working.
Check that the pressure gauge is at 1-1.5

Look up underneath on right hand side, i think these boilers have a reset button which is a rubber button in a square box, try pushing it.

That reminds me, isn't this the model with the funny toggle switches, and a green and a red button?
Haven't had one for a while, but I seem to remember that one of the switches sometimes get a bit sticky.
Flick them all back and forth a few times, turn the grey selector knob to off, have a cuppa, and go through the relight sequence.

Take off grey plate and look behind pump at about the same height there is a reset button you probably can't see it from underneath.
