I was saying what happened on the day. He did not say anything more then you have a wire missing, I read that by using the earth wire and doing some tests, it is possible. This it said, was because hive would not need this earth wire. If the BG engineer had explained to me your points 1&2...

Your lucky, when the BG engineer came to fit mine, he said their is a missing cable that controls the hot water off. Said he was unable to fit hive due to missing cable and left. I then read up and it appears hive receiver does not require an earth wire as its double insulated, thus with a...

Old Switchmaster control, no hot water off so..

I'm thinking of having Hive fitted and before I place the order, I'm trying to find out if hive could be fitted as the Switchmaster sm400 appears not to have "Hot water off". Hot water cylinder on 80c - will this cause any damage?

Your boiler should kick in to try and heat the cylinder and at the same time your rad will get nice and hot. The boiler will continue to fire until the hot...

Honeywell v4073a1039 motorised 3 port valve: should moving lever to manual allow flow?

Your point No7 in the Symptoms : Remove the large silver disc in the centre of the pump. Will get a small amount of water leaking but should only be a little. Once removed, you might be able to see the pump spindle. With your heating/ hot water being called, the pump spindle should spin.
