    Laying carpet over exisiting floor tiles

    I'm looking to carpet a small area which is currently tiled (quarry tiles). Is it a matter of simply putting down underlay then carpet or should I put down some leveling compound first? I'm a complete beginner so any tips as to what i need to do would be appreciated?

    placing a condenser tumble dryer directly on carpet

    we can't fit a dryer in our kitchen so have to set it up in a spare bedroom which is carpeted. Should we place in on something, some sort of wooden base, or is it ok to sit it directly on the carpet? anyone have experience of this? cheers.
