What about the polyester tape for internal corners and abutments? It's quite expensive. Is this installation going over a bath? If so and looking at your tile size, tanking 1 metre up from bath edge is adequate, so a single roll is ample IMO

Just get yourself a load of spare nozzles, a silicone tube would have to be sat round for a long time for the entire nozzle of silicone to set. Simply pop a new nozzle on when you're ready to use it.

No one uses WP1 anymore. A better choice is a membrane. Quicker, easier, can be tiled onto straightaway and doesn't reduce the weight capabilities of the wall. Schluter Kerdi or Homelux wall.

Were the Walls tanked? I truly believe that moisture resistant board is a waste of time in a wet area. Tanking of the Walls as well as the floor is often not done in wet rooms, a lot of people only go 4" up from the floor, no good.

Your best bet is to firstly mark on your tile where you want to cut. You then need to score where you have marked, an easy way to do this is to firstly place a tile glazed side down onto the bed of your manual tile cutter, place your marked tile on top then slide the tile on the bed gently...

Backerboards are a whole world better than Ply, although I'm still not keen on a thin backerboard glued and screwed, in particular for natural stone, so I would specify a 12mm board glued and screwed, or a thick ply to joists then an uncoupling membrane.

Kerdi or Homelux for me, so that's obviosuly the membrane type, I used to use the paint on and it's not as good as Membranes.

Simple and better solution- double tack with p/board then tank the shower area, which properly waterproofs the shower unlike Aquapanel which is in no way waterproof.

John Lewis, House of frazer etc do them. You can buy the decent suction cup type, they don't look great though, have you thought about drilling into the grout joint?

If you buy a good quality soap dish/shower tidy/accesory it wont go rusty, a good example is Samuel Heath, expensive but will last over a decade. You need to get yourself some diamond coated hole saws, quite expensive in this country but these guys are a lot cheaper:-...
