what rating of circuit breaker would you use in both those situations? that's the key really.....

Are you sure the light bulbs are screwed in nice and tight? If so and you still have the same problem then I think it's time to get some new ones as the point of contact in the bulb holder is not good. Probably not helped by the steam from the shower as the fittings are all open! To avoid...

as others have said it would be worth investing few hundred quid to get it all fully tested. It may well be fine. If so then you could get your new lights added on and just go with a fuse board upgrade - saving you lots of £
