    gotta agree with the guys the job is terrible its definatly clear batten gauge is wrong slates are a mess and the good ones if there is any should be holed with a holing machine if they turn up tomorrow chase them and get a proper roofer to take it all off and do a decent job :shock:

    i tend to use tyvek or proctor roofshield never had any major problems with either had a few problems with monarperm but nothing serious

    Going to replace our old roofline with some nice PVC stuff.

    we have just done a fascia and soffit job up our way 40m of fasci soffit gutter and downpipe £2500 all in done properly and and we made a decent profit £7000 seems very expensive to me

    just a thought but im pretty sure max pitch for double roman tiles is 22 degrees so with a pitch of 17 degree imo you will always have trouble with water ingress and the builder should have advised you of an alternative

    simply severe condensation all that is needed is a few tile vents if roof is a standard tiled roof simply take out one tile and replace with tile vent take a roofer bout 10mins to do one tile vent could cost between 20-50quid each tho

    price for materials seems reasonable to me also he may get the materials at trade price but that dosnt mean he passes that price to the customer if he does all well and good but dont take it as a given

    yep totaly agree with you on that i usually charge £50 for a roof survey its amazing how surprised people are though when you tell them exactly what your saying they seem to think they should get it for free :roll:

    as you say this problem usually occurs when new fascia and gutter are replaced on some houses another alternative is to extend the first row of tiles into the gutter

    would have to agree with datarebal on this one the spray bonding imo is an absolute nightmare best bet take off roof and fit velux when re-slating then you know everything is right as they say if a jobs worth doing
