Hi tatsky Just read this post,when I did my loft conversion BC asked me to double up rafters where I wanted to take out purlins,I had to bolt through with large toothed washers in between the sandwich,this was to take out any flex on the existing when purlin was taken from under the rafter.

Hi brianivor Yes you could Dob & Dab the walls with foam backed plaster board,then just fill the joints with joint filler,use taper edge boards because they are easier to finish off nicely

Kedi you will find that red plugs used with a 6 mm bit will be best for use upto a size 8 screw (new metric size 4mm), obviouse length to suit wall. Brown plugs normaly used with anything bigger ie 10 & 12 screws
