    PLASTERBOARD ON EXTERIOR WALL

After some advice please before l proceed. My conservatory has been dot and dabbed straight onto the exterior wall, and skimmed. There are areas which feel damp and the plasterboard has gone quite soft. Should l take it all off back to the brick and seal the brickwork with something, then re...

    WHICH SIZE FIXING?

What length would you suggest? Through 4x2, dot and dabbed plasterboard and into brickwork. I've never used concrete screws.

    Rafter attachment

Thanks. Is the cross where l should screw? And the 38mm minimum for a flat piece to the wall?

    Rafter attachment

It's actually a lowered ceiling underneath my existing conservatory ceiling as l didn't want to put any weight on the frame work. It will then be plasterboarded, so l need a finish to the wall. I may have to frame a small flat section if l birdmouth it on top of the ledger board?

    Rafter attachment

I want to attach rafters/joists to a wall plate but at a sloped angle. The drawing is looking from the side on. Can l just screw through into the wall plate or do l need to use strapping of some sort? Hope that makes sense. Thanks

    WHICH SIZE FIXING?

I want to attach a length of 4x2 along an inside brick wall which has been dot and dabbed plasterboarded too. Which length and size fixing would be best to use. The 4x2 will be having joists attached to it for a small ceiling. Thanks

    MOULD & CONDENSATION ISSUE

    Shower screen

Can anyone help me? The wall at base of my shower screen frame has obviously been getting wet over time due to water getting behind. I've raked out the old silicone around the area, but once l've repaired the area, should l re-silicone around the base just on the outside of the frame and the...

    Conservatory roof bars

I'm probably going to build a timber frame underneath, independent of the bars so l don't put any extra stress on the existing structure. I'll still batten and superquilt first, then celotex between my new joists so l have the best of both then.

    Conservatory roof bars

The bars flex a bit (more than l thought) l noticed when cleaning, which worried me adding the extra weight of plasterboard, being glazed too, would it collapse. Plus the natural movement may crack the plaster. But yes, the idea was to superquilt first, plasterboard and skim. Was going to leave...
