Whirlpool AWM 328 Fills with water then stops

If your drum rotation is ok (it would normally rotate gently as machine is filling) then the next thing to suspect is the heater open circuit.

Hotpoint WD51 Washer/Dryer Filling and stopping

Possible open circuit heater can be measured with a multimeter should read fairly low ohmic reading across Live and Neutral terminals if ok. If faulty will read infinity. If drum does not rotate at all when filling look to motor, probably brushes.

    Hotpoint Aquarius 1000 deluxe WM22

If you hear a grating sound while rotating the drum then I,m afraid it,s time to say goodbye to your trusty old friend as this repair which would be at least a bearing change which is not an easy diy job would make a ten year old machine uneconomical to repair

Changing brushes in Hotpoint Aquarius washer/dryer ?

Just as a ps you can change/check the brushes without detaching the motor. Access first brush accessible second one, pull motor over to the left leaves just enough room to place long thin slotted screwdriver down aperture to release the clip.

How Do I Replace A Waste Hose On Washing Machine?

You have not posted make/model number of your washing machine but generally the waste hose fits directly onto the pump inside the machine with a watertight secure fitting. It is not the case were the hose unplugs from the rear of the machine. The best option would have been to buy an extension...

    TV has gone purple!

If you are switching off at mains socket then back on the same way the tv is only coming on from standby. This would mean the degaus circuit never gets a chance to operate. There would have been a gradual build up over time which has led to the impurities you see now. It may now take some time to...

    TV has gone purple!

Johnd has hit the spot you have what is called a purity fault. This is when the crt has become magnetised to the extent were it deflects the electronic beam so the beam hits the incorrect phosphers giving the incorrect colour. In every tv there is a degauss circuit which operates on switch on for...

Hotpoint WMA30: stalling at start of cycle

Hi mjan2002 My experience with servicing hotpoint machines is nothing like as long as yours but I was thinking the hotpoint wma 30 was the electronic machine with the far more reliable bosch type bottom mounting motor which is a far more reliable motor than the top mounting, but a lot more...

Hotpoint Aquarius wm34 - program dial not aligned properly

I see now, this is a bit of a noodle scratcher the centre spindle which I think you refer to as the red thing is the programmer spindle and is not adjustable. If the machine operates on all programs going through each sequence as it should then it is solely a knob alignment problem. There seems...

Washing machine blown fuse - cause?

yes I would first of all suspect the door switch which has possibly gone short circuit to begin with hence blowing fuse and now has ended up open circuit now disabling the machine.

    Zanussi FL881 'shrieking' when spinning

replacing Bearings repair is never a cheap repair it is labour intensive and also may require a inner drum replacement so this would be the time to take into account the age of the wasing machine, cost of repair compared with cost of new machine

    Noisy Candy tumble dryer

tumble dryers generally do not have bearings as such. They are really quite primitive in that the drum rotates on rear pulleys at the rear and a felt pad between a metal housing at the front. It is not unusual for these to create squeaks and groans as it runs.

How to replace a door seal on a AEG Lavamat 61300

Not familiar with this model but in general door seal is attached to front panel usually by metal band (various clips) and you would have to dismantle front of machine as the other attachment is to the outer drum inside machine with once again metal band with usually screw fastener around outer...

Hotpoint WMA30: stalling at start of cycle

I do not think this is a diy job from your description of the symptoms. It may be at best a reset of the eeprom this is a part of the electronic pcb which tells the programmer which part of the program to, and in what order to execute the next operation. At the worst it is a replacement pcb but...
