Breathable magnolia? Theyre having you on.. More likely theyll dump 2 coats of covermatt on without thinning the first coat! Tell them you know that the first coat on newplaster needs thinning(mist coat) or it will peel / flake in which case youll hold them responsible for a complete re-paint!

Gawd yeah.. I first-coated an MDF wardrobe Wednesday lunchtime & I couldnt touch it with 120 grit even late Thurs ! Had Friday off so Im not sure it was even dry by then ! Im charging day-rate from now on ! Bloody meddling enviromentalists have ruined things yet again ..

My mate swears by them too but I cant get on with Purdys, tried them but they dont work for me..Leastways not the synthetic ones Ive tried ,has to be pure bristle everytime...Do purdy make a pure bristle now?

Thanks Richard. Had my suspicions, the bristles seem to part into lines & density seems lessened lately.. Shame, Ive always used them. What alternative pure bristle brushes of the same or better quality have you tried lately?

Hard to say.. I usually mix it by sight/feel.. Ive not used Mangers so cant say how good it is..

Has anyone else noticed the latest Hamilton Perfection brushes dont seem to be of the same high quality? They dont hold their shape as they always did & theyve even dropped the copper stock pins .. Has another company taken over production ? :?

maybe a Dulux/Johnstones/Crown rep (and the rest) might be reading this... What have you done to our paint? This new VOC 2010 has made eggshell look like a slightly off gloss & messed up the drying times of all solvent-based paints ! It takes 18-24 hours between coats now ! :evil:

Emulsion will be fine after just a few hours :wink:

Itll dry on anything.. You couldalso say keys shouldnt be painted with emulsion ! :twisted: :wink:
