My 2nd House Renovation-Lots of Pics!

Loving the photos. We're currently at the "bare boards and plaster walls" stage of ours (I'll post photos when we're finished as there is a lot to do) and it's really quite inspiring to see that you've been at the stage we're at and now have it all finished. Brilliant - I like the bathroom...

    Plasterboard against shower

I'd try hardibacker. About £12 a sheet from Topps and it's pretty good stuff. I'm no expert but we've used it in our wet room and put tiles on top of it. Hope that helps!

all day banging or an hour every day?

Fk her then    I thought you were concerned about your neighbour's feelings... In that case, I'd say, bang away at slightly different times of the day, whenever suits you :D (She quite clearly needs a lesson)... That way they won't be able to think to themselves "oh it's...

    Plasterer - any recommendations?

Gah Our plasterer is "busy until mid September" so we've been left without someone to do our ceilings. I know it's a long shot, and I am pursuing other avenues, but on the off-chance, is there any one (obviously pro) in the Exeter area at all who would be able to help OR know of any good...

all day banging or an hour every day?

Personally, I'd just ask your neighbour. Ours have been great with the amount of noise and banging going on, but we've maintained good contact with them just to be on the safe side (i.e. saying "if you're having people round, please let us know and we'll do something that hopefully won't be too...

Currently renovating, from top to bottom, our lovely early Edwardian terraced house. So far, so good. And I have recently learned that not only can I plaster half-decently in small areas, but that I'm a demon with the sledgehammer and rather enjoy destruction...

Antique analogue phone...how do we hook this up?

We've bought - abroad (Sony Ericsson original) - a beautiful old fashioned phone. We want to hook it up to be our main phone - and have a cordless one for the rest of the house - but I don't know where to start. We're on Virgin, not BT (which doesn't "like" analogue dial phones) and I know...
