    showers

You might have to give us a little more info!! Concealed? Exposed? Personally I like the Mira Coda showers, or the ideal standard Ecotherm Alto's Depends on what style you want.

    2 wcs one soil vent

Whilst I agree that you can do that - as that is what the fitting is made for, I would point out that you can get issues if you fit the double socket horizontal - i.e. connect the two WC's together before you get to the vertical down pipe. I went to a job about a month ago where they had...

Plastic pipe , but which is the best make on the market ???

I use either Hep20 (grey) with white JG fittings, or as lcgs said 16mm unipipe for when i am carcassing a whole house. Never had a problem with either of the above and so stick with them on the occasions that I use plastic.

    Override valve on motorised valve

No need to switch HW on at the boiler as you have manually opened the valve thereby negating the need to switch at the boiler. As your central heating water circulates some will pass through the coil in the cylinder heating up your hot water in the tank *edit* can't regulate the temp of...

    Removing a Cast Iron Bath-tips

It will take you about 15 mins to have it out. Remove all connections to it (H, C & Waste), remove it from any wall brackets, flip it over so that it is upside down. Then with a sledge hammer (and a dust sheet over the whole bath to stop any shards flying off) hit it about half way down the...

how to fix shower riser kit

Actually, I do mine the incorrect way - but do it carefully and I have never cracked a tile yet... Drill 6mm hole with tile drill bit, plug it with red 6mm plug, then i use a 4 x 4.5 screw into it and screw it in by hand gently to make sure it doesn't crack the tile. Provided the screw you...

Burst Pipe 3 bar pump spraying water all over the place.

What a rude little man. If you actually bothered to read mine and others answers you will find they were actually telling you what to do to rectify the problem. I haven't once mentioned the plastic pipe, i think if it had been copper you may well have had a similar issue - depending...

Burst Pipe 3 bar pump spraying water all over the place.

Who would need to tell them... they will send out an insurance assessor to look at what was done - assuming it was 3bar of water pumping out for any amount of time thats going to cause some damage! I would imagine if we hadn't had this little discussion on here then the NRV would still have...

Burst Pipe 3 bar pump spraying water all over the place.

I really hope you have that in writing as I would imagine that is going to be your only hope with the insurance company. Do you mean that the house has 3 x 3bar pumps - one in each ensuite? All feeding off 1 cylinder?

Burst Pipe 3 bar pump spraying water all over the place.

Absolutely agree with the above, its completely against almost every manufacturers instructions!... Below is an extract from the Salamander Installation instructions - it really couldn't be much clearer. I would imagine that you insurance will be void on the basis you have ignored the MI's! Most...

    which boiler make choice?

We only fit Vaillant or Worcester - Although it is just my opinion we get very little problems with them and customers are all very happy. If a customer wants a budget boiler we avoid them - its not worth our hassle with all the after installations problems.

Divided spout bath shower mixer taps

Pegler do a set - search for "Dual Flow" I fitted them for a customer a couple of months ago. Check valves and PRV are a bodge and messy - fit the correct item or add a tank up in the loft and you will have a HUGE range of taps available. Or this one...

    Salamander Pump Problem(s)

To defend the "dorset" argument - I have fitted large numbers of Salamander pumps throughout most of their range and never had a problem with it in Bournemouth, Poole, Ringwood or anywhere surrounding :) We do however have extremely hard water here - I wonder whether this could make the...
