    Changing electric shower

I think we are all aware of the theory - as noted above I am speaking in terms of the real world ;) I have yet to see an electric shower that is clipped all the way from the CU

Attaching a boss to orange soil pipe - solv. weld or strap?

Make sure you fit by the regs - can't connect into a soil pipe less than 450mm from the base of the bend at the bottom of the stack. Hope that doesn't cause you an issue.

    Geberit Toilet Seat

Can you post a pic of the WC and also the WC seat fittings. It will depend on the Pan and the Seat Fittings before anyone can advise you. Thanks

Do I need a header tank for a closed system?

or this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGWmONHipVo&feature=related Installation of these things is regulated for a reason. You wouldn't let a non gas safe engineer install a boiler - so why would you do the same with this.

    Changing electric shower

Agreed - however practically this isn't always as easy as you make it sound - I go to a lot of customers where they are running an 8kw shower on 6mm T&E and this has been installed for years (doesnt meet current regs) therefore you cant just go an install a new 8kw shower as its illegal. More so...

    Upstairs radiators - pipe sizes

If the above post causes an issue then why not install in Hep20 with copper tails? Can drill through joists rather than notch. Retains the structural integrity of the joists.

    service valve

On a combi system its easiest to install inhibiter through the bleed nipple on a radiator. Get yourself some Fernox F1 - should be enough to cover most systems. This is what you want: http://media.plumbtraders.co.uk/uploads/images/2009/02/02/F1Express.jpg On a combi you will just need...

    triton shower pressure dropping

You may also have inline filters on the hot and cold lines to the shower. These should have been plumbed in in an accessable place for future maintenance - although depends on the original plumber.

    service valve

What type of system are you installing? Obviously drain off valves should be at the lowest point on the system You can powerflush from the pump. Remove it and connect your hoses to each end.

Do I need a header tank for a closed system?

On the basis that this is effectively a presurised bomb in your house I can't believe you would have your family in this vicinity without having it installed and signed off correctly! If this explodes it will remove the roof and half of your house. You say you installed an expansion vessel...

    Changing electric shower

Just out of interest, what kw-age is your current electric shower - as you may find that the supply cable to the existing shower is insufficient for your decent powered newer model?

    shower pump problem

No, it will be fine as they are on different draw off pipes straight from the cylinder.

    shower pump problem

You installed it completely against Salamanders (& Water Regs!) guidelines - and as such it wouldn't be covered by their warranty - and you are correct in your assumption that when another tap is switched on the flow is reduced such that it might turn off the flow switch on the pump until normal...

Replacing Bath Tap Feeds - Tips ?

You will be better off with the compression fitting as you can reuse the existing nut and olive on the current pipe. If you were to use the "easyfit" (speedfit) connector you will need to cut off the existing olive very carefully with a hacksaw making sure that you do not go through or damage...

    Installing two showers

You aren't lucky, its a perfectly acceptable solution to your problem. I fit many shower pumps for customers in your position. HOWEVER: the OP stated that this is a "new installation" and therefore the best system for his requirements from what he has told us would be to install an unvented...

Cold water continuously refilling - overflow going mental.

Would be worth switching it off on the service valve to the ballcock (if you have one) to save you wasting water all night

    Shower pump plumbing

Flexi pipe (if you mean plastic barrier pipe) is fine. I'd recommend Hep20 grey pipe with John Guest Speedfit fittings if you are going to use plastic. Make sure its all clipped tightly too. Should run 22mm pipe from CWSC and DHWC to the pump and then can take it in 15mm to the shower valve
