My triton shower, built in thermostatic, seems to have lost some power/pressure. I believe I have an umbvented mains supplied system, ie the water comes from a cylinder upstairs (as is the shower) the tamk has a pressure bvessel on it, the pressurte on the pressure vessel is 3 bars,

I have a pressure regulator on my mains supply imput says it is 2.1 bar. ROumour in the street , (newish 10 yr old housing estate) suggests that mains pressure is 7 bar.

I am sure that the shower had a reasonable pressure when we first moved in, it seems to have got lower over they years. Does that make sense?

We have recently had the complete cylinder replaced with a new one as there was a leak in the older cyliner. Could that have caaused a problem

Are there filters in the shower? or could the mains pressure regulator be faulty. The power from the garden hose connected just above the water mains inlet is also poor. no high preessure water from the garden hose.

I have called a plumber recently who did not think there was any problem, however I was not sure he was as experienced as he could be.

I was looking for a way to measure the water pressure, but other than air pressure gauges for car tyers I do not have anything to measure it with.
Any sugggestions?

The shower is as above, I hae checked the pressure from the shower it is less than 1 bar, approx 0.8. the pressure in the bathroom shower, also upstairs is almost 2 bar

I have downoloaded the installation and operating instructions for the shower, and it seems to suggest that there is a check valve that can be cleaned, howebver the shower is built in behind some tiles and I do not think I can get at the valve without breaking the tiles.

I will check it out on return from my vacation, couple of weeks, it seems I also need acartridge and replacement check valve tool. Will have to order from triton I guess

You may also have inline filters on the hot and cold lines to the shower.

These should have been plumbed in in an accessable place for future maintenance - although depends on the original plumber.

When was your pressure reducing valve last serviced? (Combination valve)
Did you take you shower test results with the shower head on different spray pattens, removed from the hose and without the hose & head attached?

no high preessure water from the garden hose.
Pressure or flow?
Your water supplier should attend for free to check your supply and if it is also your garden supply that is affected, I would call them first.

I have a pressure regulator on my mains supply imput says it is 2.1 bar
If you are reading that from a guage, you should be able to adjust the pressure. That will likely be the set pressure, reduced from your available 7 bar. Know the type?

DO not think anything has been serviced.

The mains regulator is a RWI/RSI? (not sure of the make, I am at work at present) it is a fixed black cover that does not seem to be removable, there is a sticker on the cover that reads 2.1 bar.

The tests I did with the showers were screwing the gauge onto the shower hose in both cases. the shower head was removed.

I plan to try and follow the flushing and cleaning instructions found in the shower operation manual. I have ordered the parts form Triton, and hope that the check valve is accessible, the drawing is not clear, but I am hoping acess is to the valve once the body of the main operation valve is removed.

On the outdoor hose the gauge was screwed onto the tap. Could there be a pressure regulater before the outdoor tap also. I can see a on off valve, but there is also another silver coloured item in the line after this valve and before it goes outdoors.

The silver one will be to isolate the water so your neighbour can not wash his car when you're on holiday and to drain the tap in the winter, to prevent freezing. Small flat screw head in the centre? turn 90 degrees across the flow to turn it off.

Wait for your parts, flush it through, post results and good luck.
