    problem when applying silicone with the correct tool

    soapy water??? use washing up liquid in a spray bottle to spray the silicone once applied but make sure before you start the area is dry, to finish off also spray the tool or your finger with the washing up liquid then smooth it off. works every time :D

    cutting curves is easy especdially with tiles of your size, get yourself a rubi 6mm blade it comes on what looks like a smaller biro pen. pressure onto the tile "not too much though" make your shape and snap it off. if its a strong curve then score your curve then wet saw the middle of the curve...

    hi, iv just finished fitting of a 900mm quadrant shower tray. i had to raise the frame approx 5inch for the waste fall. putting the waste under floorboards wasnt an option. know im wondering whats the best product to fit to fill the gap???

    thanks for your experience rich, this forum would be nothing without good chaps like yourself. i didnt go with the addy route over one coat iv just primed (no pva for me)and made a start on the tiling today..... fingers crossed :D

    porcelain tiles in bathroom

    you will also find it difficult to fit the fixtures and fittings onto porcelain tiles if your not experienced (drilling can be very tough). use the correct drill bits.

    i used thistle one coat to patch it up. could i thinly skim coat this with rapid set addy ready for tiling, surely got to be safer option than tiling straight over the one coat??

    rich mate the walls went down back to the block, just poking all the loose bits away. the tiles are ceramic 600x300 so i know theres a little weight issue there. heard other tilers in the past saying they patch with one coat..... i know skim finish is ok to tile to (less weight though)...

    just wondering if an area approx 2m2 has been patched with thistle one coat plaster 6mm depth can it be directly tiled onto, obviously primed 1st (not PVA) hear so many different views and never actually come across it until now. thanks
