    Black isn't a neutral, it will be switched live. Red to C, put a piece of brown sleeve or tape over the black and connect to L1. Earth to earth as you said.

    Before you get too carried away, with the power turned off unscrew the switch from the wall and see what cables there are at the switch. If there is no nuetral you will need to take a feed from the nearest ceiling rose.

    Either connect 2 core cable to your existing choc block then to the new fitting or remove your choc block, connect the neutral and line to your new fitting then put the earth from the T&E to a single choc block (don't forget the earth sleeve).
