Also have you tried going into Windows Update and downloading an update manually ? Just try one to see whether there's something wrong with your automatic set-up . And also to see whether you get the same error message.

But check the easy stuff first:- - Was it cold - were the washer jets frozen ? - Disconnect the pipes from the jets, activate the washers, does water come out with some force? If so its the jets that are blocked. - Else its the pump/filter. All the best
