    Which resists pullout better - ringshank nails or screws?

    I would use ring shanks,i live in the cumbrian fells and have nailed lots of ply on flat roofs and none have ever came off in high winds.

    A roof vent on its own wont really do any good as you need some sort of extracter ie vent on roof and vent in ceiling/wall.To only put the vent on the roof will only aid air flow between felt and tiles not roof to attic.Hope this helps.

    What i mean is it will not stick to his feet in warm weather like bitumastic and then end up on his carpets,only going to be a small areas anyway where blisters are + only likley to be slippery when wet,stop picking faults :wink: :lol:

    Sounds about right,use code 4 lead and in sections no longer than 1.5m.Unless you want white stains on next doors roof tiles apply pattination oil to finished lead work immediatly after fitting.

    Many years ago appx 1989/90 i done a roof with norweigen slate,it was green ish and each slate was 16 or 18 x 12,i must admit these slate appeared to be good.I dont know the cost as the guy sourced the slates himself.Anyone else ever used these and if so what do you think of them and cost?

    I agree,i pay £150 per day to my old man who works for me(3 days a week) but i laso pay subbies that same when i need them.Bear in mind your boss has to make sumin on you otherwise what the point but @ £8.50 per he sounds like greedy so and so.Why not buy a van,bang an advert in the yellow pages...

    Lidl angle grinder from 13th May

    I recently bought a cheap angle grinder and it knackered after around 8 month.I went back to buying bosch.I suppose it depends alot on how much you use it.Then again i bought a cheat(toolmaster) rip saw and its every bit as good as my old bosch,decissions decissions...... :wink:
