    Bath plastic seal

Get your plumber/tiler back and tell him its not sealed correctly and get him to rectify. Most plumbers will seal the bath against the wall with a large amount of silicone, then the tiles will go down onto the edge of the bath and a final aesthetic seal of white silicone is applied - thereby...

How do I remove toilet to tile behind it?

If its an old fitting you might find the rubber has got a bit brittle - might be best to replace that part with a nice shiney new clean one  Because you WC is now sitting approx. 10mm further out into the room - are you sure that the waste pipe fitting is properly around the outlet of...

MDPE for hot water is it ok?

Further to the above post - might be more efficient to run in cold 15mm Hep and then perhaps a point of use water heater to heat it up in the workshop?

    imperial to metric

Yes, you can buy a 3/4 olive and then use a normal 22cmm coupler as you say. Can buy 3/4 olives at most plumbing outlets 1/2 to 15mm can generally use same fittings, and same with 1" to 28mm... but there is too much difference on the 3/4" to 22mm therefore you must do it as above...

Dangers of non registered gas work.

Im confused - why would he not be able to use the word "heating" unless he was gas registered? Surely he can install, remove and alter existing radiators, change central heating pumps, replace and service 2 or 3 port valves, replace cylinders which contain the central heating coil, install...

    Indirect hot water cylinder

Either crank loose a bottom fitting and get a rubble sack (nice and thick with no holes in it) under to catch the water - just drain it off slowly by only opening it a little and you should find it doesn't flood. Or, try taking out the rubber plunger inside the drain cock and see if you can...

    Cowboy Trap

Did anyone watch Cowboy Trap last night? Made me laugh... one of the major huge "issues" that the plumber had done wrong was keep the bathroom tap (on a refurb) tank fed - he was installing a non dual flow basin mixer tap! Which the customer purchased. They made a huge issue out of how it was...

    Contemporary Garden Wall

Absolutely. I just want to render a couple of block piers to hang some front gates on - this seemed like the best method to get a decent finish and most straightforward - albeit slightly more expensive - but with the small amount of work to be done its not an issue. Do builders merchants...

    shower pump

Inlet side should be piped in 22mm and reduced down at entry into pump to 15mm. Outlet side can be in 15mm no probs.

    Shower Pump

Hi Jess, Does the pump have dedicated feeds from the hot water tank and the cold water tank to it? Is it just when you use the hot tap, or does it do it with the cold too? Sounds like you might have a little bit of air stuck in the pipework. The pump activating itself could be from...

    Contemporary Garden Wall

Hi, sorry to resurrect an old post - but just wondering whether the k-rend was just one coat and from their website looks like it doesnt need painting? Is that right? Also, don't suppose you have a rough price per m/sq for it? Thanks very much

SHOWER PUMP 22MM to 15MM COLD WATER FEED

You can if you want - the only purpose it would serve would be if you wanted to change over the flexi's, otherwise you would be able to replace or service a pump from the isolation valves included.

SHOWER PUMP 22MM to 15MM COLD WATER FEED

Why do you want to add in further isolation valves when there are already isolation valves built into the flexible connectors as I said above - or am i missing something?

SHOWER PUMP 22MM to 15MM COLD WATER FEED

Reduce as close to the flexi's (that comes with the pump) as possible. I think that the CT75+ comes with isolators built into the flexi's - see here...

SHOWER PUMP 22MM to 15MM COLD WATER FEED

You need to use a 22mm pipes for both hot and cold feeds to the pump and then reduce down from 22 to 15 just before the flexi connector on the pump. Surrey flange is a good idea for hot. Salamanders preferred method i believe

    Shower Elbow Joint Leak :o(

Congrats - that bathroom looks better than some I have seen completed by supposed professionals ;) Nice job! Bet those mosaic border tiles took a little bit of packing out to get level with the main tiles!

What shower system should i install please

If you want to get equally balanced pressures then pump it. 22mm feed from DHWC to pump, 22mm feed from CWSC in loft to pump, then 15mm feeds from pump out to shower. Make sure DHWC & CWSC are of sufficient size to handle the pump you are purchasing. Alternatively buy a single impeller...

    Changing electric shower

It would appear that despite all your experience and qualification you still cannot understand basic english and are having to quote me out of context. My comment in relation to the 8.5 "definitely" not being able to be installed on the 6mm cable was assuming in my scenario as mentioned that...

    Changing electric shower

Some people on here just have to have an argument. Something, which on a Thursday night I am not rising too. If you read above - The point I was originally trying to make was just be careful before replacing an electric shower and dont assume that you can just replace like for like. I was...
