    water pressure through a combi

If you open a tap very high flow, the boiler may never catch up, open it a bit less, and the boiler will overcome thermal lag quicker. So it's likely you are being more frugal and at same time getting g hot water quicker.

    Underfloor heating not working ?

Have you checked the actuator for that room is opening the circuit correctly? The stat is only the switch to tell other parts of the system to work.

Underfloor Heating - A couple of issues

There is a wiring diagram that I dug out of docs on house, but despite it having two wiring centres, it only shows one pump.... So I don't know how that transfers to my system? I do have two wiring centres, but I have two manifolds and two pumps. I'll upload it shortly :) Edit: Ref knowing pump...

Underfloor Heating - A couple of issues

I spoke to the system supplier, and they confirmed run on isn't a function that they were aware of. And after fiddling with upstairs stat turned downstairs pump off... I will certainly be investigating the flow issue as well, right now I'm more concerned about odd pump behaviour and whether...

Underfloor Heating - A couple of issues

Paul, that's the thing, what if it doesn't have them, when a stat demands heat, it would open actuator and call for boiler and pump. So without a zone valve would you get boiler feed to both manifolds? but only one would have its own pump circulating? Just thinking aloud here. I did a bit...

How do I bleed my wet underfloor heating?

You should be able to turn rotor in centre with slotted screwdriver. Hopefully this will break it free, and all will be good. Might need a reset after not sure with these pumps, didn't read the wheel 12mb manual!

How do I bleed my wet underfloor heating?

The pump is the big black bit. The bit you have set to 45 (altho it looks more like 47) is the circuit water temperature. Looks like your rotor is blocked based on the info from manual see image above.

Underfloor Heating - A couple of issues

Hmmm, I'm not sure we have any zone valves, this woukd be a 2port valve yes? Where would you expect it to be located, near manifold on the boiler to manifold feed? I did read a thread somewhere where people had a system wired up that was suffering pump running on, and it was because a signal...

Help - Telford Copper & Stainless Cylinder.

If you had asked these things prior to tank change, I would have said thermostat or heater, but I have assume these have all been supplied new with new tank - or were they reused from old tank? Andy

Help - Telford Copper & Stainless Cylinder.

You should get many times the volume of tank in hot water, since the water in the tank is generally much hotter than necessary, and is mixed to a more tolerable level (say 55-60C) before delivery to the tap or shower, where you ill likely cool it even more by mixing with cold water slightly...

Help - Telford Copper & Stainless Cylinder.

I expect the longer time period was to allow plenty of time for the tank to fully heat, it would of course turn off once hot, and wouldn't turn back on until it dropped below a certain tank temp - this is to prevent constant turning on and off at the top of the tank range ( all systems have some...

Underfloor Heating - A couple of issues

You give sound logical advice, and your thoughts are along the same line as my own, I was hoping for validation of them, so thankyou. I agree, the pump running when all stats seem to be not demanding is not right. I need to check if the boiler is also firing, as that would be more annoying! Its...

Underfloor Heating - A couple of issues

So, I realised the mixing stat was actually set up above 50, and was reaching about 60 in practice, so I dropped that down, its now at the more advisable 45-50 or so, and this morning I remembered to take a snap in the cavity when I left house at 5.45ish, so heating been on for about 15 mins...

Underfloor Heating - A couple of issues

Paul, thanks for replying again :) I did have a shufty the other day, I have been poking my head in there every now and again, I really need to do it when the heating has just turned on from cold? I think I saw that flow was 50, and return was about 30, but I could be remembering wrong - I...

Underfloor Heating - A couple of issues

Hi, I have not noticed the pump running when I didn't expect it to before. I noticed in this instance because I was a bit warm and wondered why the pump could be heard when the rooms were clearly all at temperature. So I checked and confirmed all stats were off. Maybe hysteresis at work. Ref...

Underfloor Heating - A couple of issues

Hello, I am hoping for some assistance troubleshooting my UFH system. Background: House is about 10yrs old, we are the second owners. Boiler is a large combination boiler, housed in the garage. Heating is UFH throughout property, on both floors. There are two manifolds, one on ground...

Fill gap between roof and wall

my garage of this type, at my old house, had wood vertically, then a horizontal piece that went above the corrugated material, covering that gap. I replaced it while I lived there as it was rotten, and in the end I replaced in the same fashion. However this was because I couldn't undo without...

Which type of boiler and system for our situation....

Hi, I am unsure why the head and the heat exchanger should be a major factor - we are talking a thermal store which utilises mains hot water - so the only water that needs to pass through a heat exchanger is being forced there by mains pressure? The F and E tank will only be to maintain...

Which type of boiler and system for our situation....

Ok, so wind forward a few months, and we have made some progress/decisions and found some other tradesmen to make their suggestions. We have also confirmed the requirement for a better mains supply - the current pipe is 80 ish yards from road and is a 20mm pipe - but we only get 12l/min at...
