Hi. Having a problem with a unswitched FCU to dimmer switch which turns on outside lights. Problem is they wont work.
It is wired as follows. Ring main live and netural to "in" on back of FCU. Neutral out from fcu connected to directly to wiring feeding outside lights. Live from fcu to dimmer...
No.
You will need to drain the cold water storage in the loft. Just turn of the mains water or tie up ball valve.
Open hot and cold taps to drain quicker. Once water drained and stopped coming out of taps go for it. ( Hot water cylinder will remain full except at the very top).

yes bled radiators. Thermostat set to above 30 degrees to get it hot. Set boilermate to max on winter as well. Pretty sure not boiler thermocouple as evrything appears to be fine there.
The top pump is working. I thought this was the return to the boiler from the boilermate - have i got this the wrong way around? Even if i have i thought it would still get the rads a bit warm?
Bottom pump is the supsect one. Tried running on all three speeds and bleeding . Any ideas how to...

Wall are breeze block. I take it i can use one coat on that?
As for aqua board is it really essential in wet areas if whole bathroom is tiled, grouted and sealed. Seems like additional money for nothing as already waterproof.
The plaster on my bathroom walls is completely shot and going back to blockwork.
Walls will be tiled so only needs to be good enough for that. Was thinking of just undercoat plaster on blockwork. Any suggestions?
Wll do. Thanks for your help much appreciated.
ONE MORE question. I assume i cant take the non return valve out just incase of problems with backflow (forget water regs for a moment)
My guess was a faulty cartridge. Please you confirmed that this most obvious. Most thermostatics have a button you can press to go above 40ish degrees. this one does not which i thought was odd and would probably have solved the problem!
