Window leak along frame - worried

I don't know much about krend. Only thing I have heard is when it comes to painting it the first time it takes loads of coats as it soaks up the paint quickly.

Window leak along frame - worried

Is it painted render or is it K rend stuff? Personally assuming it is painted render a good coat of paint will never make things worse, It helps to seal small cracks and gaps too. Again its a cheap and somewhat easy task that helps to eliminate a possibility off the list.

Window leak along frame - worried

To be honest that was one of the things I was thinking too even if only temporarily to rule it out as a cause. Maybe seal it but leave 2 or 3 10mm gaps for water to get out as it could be driving rain getting in there. Leaks are a pain in the butt and unless its something obvious you need to...

How to adjust this double glazed window

Nothing adjustable on the hinge itself. You say its only 18 month old will the installer not come back and adjust it? Assuming its a side hung window are you saying there is a gap at the top on the handle side? If so the glass needs "Heel & Toeing" as mentioned above

Window leak along frame - worried

Why didn't he seal the top of the window? I would check the seals on the upstairs window too next A good coat of paint never hurts, caulk any cracks and gaps in the render

Wedge gasket replacement damaging foil tape on DGU

I cant quite picture what you mean feel free to post some pics. The ali tape around the units is handling tape to stop you cutting your hands, It doesn't make any real difference if its damaged.

Rehau vertical sliding sash - fixing?

A little bit harsh their Bonni. I would only go as far as saying no up/down fixings where reasonably possible. Sometimes you need a direct fix to eliminate a bow in the frame (straps just wont do it) had it myself today with a sliding sash bay window. Standard windows are fixed down all the time...

    Multipoint locking front door

I don't think so. To be honest if they are already in your house how they plan to get out is the least of your problems

Aluminium window fitting - is this acceptable? what meets regs?

I was asked by a customer to supply and fit some of these doors a while back. After talking to them I realized they would be a pig of a company to deal with and when I downloaded the technical specs from the website I saw the frame sizes which I knew my customer wouldn't want anyway. I ended up...

Aluminium window fitting - is this acceptable? what meets regs?

What is the make and is it the make they quoted/was specked on the contract? Surely you saw some samples/previous jobs? Did you ask specifically for small meeting styles and leave the rest to them? Most of the makes with thin meeting styles actually have very large outer frames. Generally if it...

    Multipoint locking front door

As Crank says it sounds like you want a door with a "slam lock" adds about £80 to the cost of a door plus any additional fancy handles. (bar handles can add about £100 each) Inside you could just have a key escutcheon though. As for the thumbturn its not good practice to have one if you have a...

Automatic Closer for UPVC Double Glazed Window

Its sound like you have already thrown a few £ at this problem. Although a closer is probably possible it would probably be some what expensive and sounds like the tenants would just break it anyway. My suggestions would be a new window with a smaller fanlight opener that noone could climb...

    Rehau edge- no reinfircement?

As Crank said above. They quite often use the door slab offcuts as reinforcing as it much more thermally efficient than steel. As for drainage do you have cills? If so its most likely concealed drainage. Pour some water into the threshold to see where it goes

    Too much noise

Trickle vents on the windows? I expect that will be the main source of the noise getting through You can get baffled ones but to be honest they are very expensive for not much gain
