    Ah, I miss read your post sorry P46. I'm not there now so will get my brother to try this. So if you can stop the shaft with your finger does this mean that the pump isn't working to its full capacity? Would it need replacing?

    Ok I removed the bleed screw and switched the boiler back on. The shaft is spinning and water dripped out. Whats my next step? Thanks Help help.....

    do I remove the bleed screw completly to access the shaft? If the pump is faulty i presume the shaft won't spin?
