Cleaned PC now it does not work!

Little while back opened the side of the desktop and the dust build up was massive. Cleaned inside the case with compressed air. Now the computer does not work, it starts ok but nothing on screen. The pc was about to be replaced as it was getting old. I need to get the stuff off the hard drive...

    Terrazzo Tiles

Just fixed 23 metres Terrazzo tiles into an already fitted kitchen (with island!) on a very badly screeded floor. Fixed each tile with a level, looks lovely although used a mountain of sticky to level up the floor. Now, im not a Terrazzo fixer by trade and polishing the tiles afterwards was not...

    Terrazo

Got 20 metres of 400x400x22mm terrazzo to fix onto a badly screeded floor that has a hot water underfloor heating system. Now, i have been faithful to BAL for years now but was wondering what some of you other fixers would use for adhesive/latex. The floor needs a smoothing compound laying and...

    Velux Builders..... Women, bless em.

Had my sister round for a coffee a little while ago and whilst looking out of my front window she commented on the fact that my neighbours opposite were using the same builders who had worked on the house opposite hers. " how do you know", i replied, "they dont have any name boards up". "oh...

    Synchromesh-What is that!

Looking at getting a 4-5 year old peugeot or fiat van. Seen some nice, relatively low mile examples in very nice condition, except, they all seem to have syncromesh problems with either 2nd or 3rd gear. Done some research and seems a common problem with these vans. Right, i have not got an idea...

Hi gcol, sorry for late reply. Got young baby twins so not much down time! I agree with you. I think another product aimed at the diy market. Also not sure what the cost is but whatever it is, an unnecessary one.

    Removing grout from tiles

First of all are you sure its grout? I say that because some polished porcelain come with a wax coating in order to protect the finish from the next tile in the box. If you have an unused tile have a look at it. Is it shiny or can you see a coating of wax on it? If it is shiny and you are sure...

Is my pricing wrong- Price this up!

Hi fellas. Sorry for delay. Sir lancenotalot, bang on. Went in at £330. And get this. He had already been to our favourite tile outlet (rhymmes with botts piles) and they sold him 2 bags of sticky at £47 each! And they told him that with a heavy notch trowel he will get 8-10 metres a bag. (We...

We had a similar problem in our house and we planted a flowering shrub called Lavatera. The growth rate in the 1st season was incredible. dont know if we had wonder soil but it grew and grew and filled a space about 10' wide and about 10' high. Wonderful pink flowers and a long season. In the...

How level does floor need to be

With tiles that size ideally you would want a level floor. In that case the floor tiling would want setting out from the highest point of the floor. If the screed is sloping down towards the sliding doors and the highest point is, say, at the opposite end of the room, you need to be carefull the...

    Travertine adhesive.

I'll go with Gcol's recommendation. If have a Selco builders merchant near you they always have this on offer. The grey is about £9+vat. Not sure about the white which is what you need but i would imagine £5 or £6 more. If you cant get that i swear by CTF3, a cracking adhesive, get it from Topps...
