VW POLO 2003 1998 cc petrol Engine Light On

I had this code on my old Audi as well as P0421 as it was a V6. The Audi/VW ECUs are notoriously fussy about the performance of the catalytic converter. To the point that sometimes these codes are triggered when fitting non-OEM cats. It basically thinks that the cat is not performing as it...

    Audi A6 "W" reg.

I totally forgot. All Audi dealers and Audi specialists use TPS for their parts and most branches will serve Joe Public also. I used to get my parts direct from them, cuts out the middle man. They carry loads of stock and can get anything else next day(except special orders or rare bits)

    Audi A6 "W" reg.

I find each one hit or miss. Some are nice and friendly and really helpful, others are staffed by complete plonkers.

    Siezed bleed nipple

Update - tried everything it wouldn't budge. In the end I pushed the piston back without it and all is fine. I will replace the calipers at some point when the fluid needs doing. Did a service and brakes on my Accord today. Whoever designed the engine must have been drunk. Oil filter in...

    Audi A6 "W" reg.

It is one of the less common faults of the A6 but it does happen more than it should. You could try a breakers for an old bit but it is likely to have suffered the same problem. New parts are easy to get but this would be a main dealer part. Speak to the parts desk and they will be able to...

    Removing old grout

Best thing is a grout rake. Like this: http://www.wickes.co.uk/grout-rake/invt/514119/ Takes a bit of elbow grease but no so bad. When you say waterproof do you mean one that doesn't fall apart when wet or do you mean something that is completely impermeable to water? The only true...

keraflex on a kerdi ds membrane?

The problem isn't the addy curing under the mat as the floor should be permeable. Between the mat and a porcelain tile neither is permeable which is why they usually recommend an un-modified addy.

Creating a totally invsible access panel in floor tiles

How often are you really going to need access? If not often at all then I would be tempted to fix it in place a keep a load of spares.

keraflex on a kerdi ds membrane?

If you ever watch Holmes on Homes he always talks about using modified thinset one side and un-modified on the other. I believe however that this advice is specific to the US/Canada and doesn't apply over here. I would check with Schulter for their specific advice. ETA -...

    Tanking

Backerboard is a little bit more expensive but a much better substrate. It can hold more weight and will not degrade at all when wet. PB is fine if tanked correctly but given that most has come off anyway I would remove the ply and fit backerboards. Unless you have a very powerful shower or...

    Tiling onto ply?

Ply is far more expensive and less good, so as tpt said - no. Aqua panel or hardibacker is about the only thing that will be suitable for tile that heavy.

I need to make and tile a curved bath front panel

    1. This will suit your needs: http://www.marmox.co.uk/products/marmox-curved-board 2. They are ready to tile so no prep 3. A decent bagged flexible adhesive from a trade manufacturer (BAL for example).

vauxhall astra design twinport mk v(5) 2005 1.6 MOT FAIL

The results you have point to either incomplete combustion or a goosed cat. Generally white smoke means water as John has said but it could be caused by high concentrations of un-burned fuel. I assume you are not loosing any coolant? Does the exhaust smell of petrol? If the O2 sensor...

    Bathroom tiling issue

Sounds like the wall construction could be a cob wall. Your best option maybe to dry line the walls with plasterboard, use a waterproof tanking kit and tile over that. I am sure someone with more experience of this type of wall will know better!

    Grout for power showers

Which one do you have? All the ones on this page say they are suitable: http://www.dunlop-adhesives.co.uk/products/grouts/ Grouts would not be suitable for power showers as the volume of water would mean the grout doesn't dry out. But it largely depends on what the substrate you have...

    Tiling a diagonal wall?

I would guess that it is the same. The max weight is about how much the substrate can support. Whether this is vertically or sloped the force acting and the weight is the same.

How to make shower cubicle water tight?

MR plasterboard will resist some water and shouldn't be as susceptible to mold growth as ordinary stuff but it isn't water proof. Tiles and grout etc are not waterproof and will allow water ingress. It depends on the type of shower and how often it is going to get used. If you have a power...

Tiling a bath ready for a shower over the bath.

If the damage to the plaster is not too bad you can fill the holes with tile adhesive. If you really want to do it the day before and fill the large holes and let it set. I would go with a bagged addy that you mix yourself. Its really easy, just follow the instructions carefully. For a bout a...

    New bathroom work

I think what titic was getting at is what you are planning on doing is a massively complex job and the questions you are asking highlight that you maybe a beginner at tiling. I am all for DIY, I am a DIY tiler but I started a lot smaller than this project. Break your project down in to...

Tiling a bath ready for a shower over the bath.

I think you need to take some time and read the sticky at the top of this forum. There is no special way for removing the tiles. If thy are stuck well they are going to damage the wall and you will have to deal with that when you are finished. I got something called a utility bar in B & Q...
