Water tank container not filling up, no bath

Don't over analyze this with what works and what marginally works. That tank needs to be full of water. It replenishes itself automatically via the valve operated by the orange float. Get that resolved and everything else should be fine.

    The heating has stopped working!

Sounds like it's the pump then ! Remove centre screw from pump, can you turn the pump internals ? Take pump apart, same question. Buy and fit new pump.

    powermax range 155 wont fire

If it doesn't light then that is down to gas and air and ignition. Whatever the state of the pipework, radiators or water it is all irrelevant.

    powermax range 155 wont fire

I wasn't aware there was a filter in there as I haven't been in there. I am not a heating engineer, just an owner. I have only worked on the externals and viewed the insides when my engineer was doing a service. The sump is just at the bottom of the combustion chamber and collects rust and bits...

    powermax range 155 wont fire

OK just asked as I've had a fan that didn't spin at all and a fan that only spun at half speed, both were faulty fans. Both (obviously) caused lockouts. If you remove the sump to clean it out you will have breached the integrity of the combustion chamber.

......and does the fan really spin up like a hair drier ? <-- Serious question

Using CH Rad as heat leak for woodburners occasional use.

Purely speculative, just thinking aloud really. I have a wood-burner, with back boiler, that is connected via gravity flow to an upstairs hot water cylinder. The cylinder will get completely hot and the back boiler will start to sing. I realise that there needs to be a radiator also connected...

    powermax range 155 wont fire

From the manual... `Sealed System' models have an air separation fitting at the back of the boiler. This also houses the water level safety switch and connects the pressure relief valve and automatic air vent. So I am sure an OV system does not have these parts at all. Switch, AAV, PRV.

    powermax range 155 wont fire

Understood but I think the AAV and switch go hand in hand. Even if the OP's boiler does have an AAV, it does not have a level switch, so would light up even if the top of the store was full of air.

    powermax range 155 wont fire

I have 2 of these in let properties, one is Open, and the other is Sealed. One has an AAV and a level switch and the other doesn't. I wasn't sure which was which so I had a look in the manual, and on the circuit diagram it shows "Water Level Switch" with a note against it which says "N.B. Not...

    powermax range 155 wont fire

That's what most people are doing. I have 2 of these in let properties. Have had issues but they're not doing too bad.(y)

    powermax range 155 wont fire

I don't think you have an AAV or a level switch.

    powermax range 155 wont fire

Don't think you have a level switch. It's on the sealed system not the OV. There is a reasonable troubleshooting guide in the manual. As stated do NOT compromise the integrity of the combustion process but no harm in understanding what is wrong. If you have an engineer prepared to look at it...

Powermax 155x – Pump replacement - drain blocked URGENT

Still a bit sceptical about this 'pump' issue. The OP says he has no hot water and no heating. If the CH pump was the issue then he would still have DHW and vice versa.

Powermax 155x – Pump replacement - drain blocked URGENT

If its a pump, and I'd keep an open mind on that, then they should have isolating valves to allow the pumps to be swapped. Can you say exactly what is happenening. When the HW LED is on, does it fire up and get hot ?

HW comes on with CH - Wiring?

Don't think you had an answer re the link. Yes you'll also need to move the link to P for Pumped from G for Gravity.

    Bath Screens

I need to replace an over bath shower screen. I would appreciate any thoughts on what to look for. Any makes to look at, any makes to avoid ? Good reliable value for money is what I am looking for rather than appearance or appeal as it is going into a let property. andytw

    Fault Stanley cooker burners

Photoelectric cell didn't get a mention. There is a measurement that can be made during flame time.
