New Boiler Fitted All Radiators Hot But Strange Issue

The boiler is out in the utility room. The old boiler got hot so it heated up that room but now the boiler stays cool that room is cold but we just shut the door from the utility to the kitchen. The new boiler has built in frost protection which I think means will cut in if it gets too cold...

New Boiler Fitted All Radiators Hot But Strange Issue

We have 10 rads in total and I'd say they get warm after about ten mins and then get hot in half an hour or so.

New Boiler Fitted All Radiators Hot But Strange Issue

We tried that but he said he has fitted the boiler correctly and it's working so not his problem anymore. Perhaps we'll get someone else in to have a look. I hate being cold. We're not even in a minus figure outside this morning so will freeze when it gets colder. I was just hoping someone on...

New Boiler Fitted All Radiators Hot But Strange Issue

The house was lovely and warm before the boiler change. It heated up almost instantly so don't "think" the rad size is the issue. I was thinking perhaps it was the remote thermostat but we have three temp gauges and they are all reading the same.

New Boiler Fitted All Radiators Hot But Strange Issue

Shhh!! We're not going have any breakdowns lol. I agree it is much colder this morning but it still had this problem last week when not so chilly. By the evening to whole house is toasting it just seems to take an age to get there. In half an hour the temp has gone up by 1C.

New Boiler Fitted All Radiators Hot But Strange Issue

Hi All, Please can anyone help. Think we're going mad. We've just had an ancient boiler replaced in our new home with a Valiant Ecotec Plus 630. We had problems with some radiators getting hot and other not following installation but resolved that by balancing and bleeding the radiators. Now...

Complete Novice Woodburner - Please Help

Thought you'd be interested in the outcome. I phoned the shop and they said it was all to do with having a multifuel grate fitted. Something about the gap causes more air so you don't have as much control burning wood as you would when burning coal. I was very sceptical but hey presto, we...

Complete Novice Woodburner - Please Help

There are two vents with knobs on the bottom that we turn to open or close and the air wash one at the top. The seal on the door feels and looks like it shuts properly

Complete Novice Woodburner - Please Help

Thanks for replying. It sometimes does go above the 250c on the thermometer but only just. The wood is between 15 & 20% which I believe is fine. I was just concerned that there seems to be no difference whatever position the vents are in. We can have the vents closed on start up and the wood...

Complete Novice Woodburner - Please Help

Hi, We recently had a Yeoman multifuel burner installed. We are complete novices and have read the manufacturers instructions but there's one thing that's bothering us. The fire roars with all the vents open but also when they are all closed. It's like there's no control. This is only the...

Advice on Negotiating Price Reduction Following Survey

I would expect a second hand car to work without defect if I paid a lot of money for it but can understand what you're saying. However I don't think it's fair to say the following are nit picking. The roof, which gave us most concern originally is listed as being at the end of it’s usable...

Advice on Negotiating Price Reduction Following Survey

Hi All, Not sure how to handle negotiations following a not so good survey on a 1930's, 3 storey, 6 bed property. The survey says the roof is at the end of it's useful life (theres a lot of roof), evidence of wood boring beetle, damp in the hallway, some rewiring, chimneys need rerendering...

Hi, Please read my post re the builder. He reckons to not bother with a full survey as will be a waste of money. The builder by the way is a childhood friend so I trust him totally.
