The builder checked the whole roof and found on one there had been a fire and all the timbers have been replaced so like new. The part I was worried about he said that the two end joists are sat on a wall so cannot move where as the other joists have bedded in. The roof is fine so it's go,go go...

Well it's D day today. Have a builder going to have a look. Keeping evrything crossed and will keep you updated.

£1300 if we use the banks choice. £560 to £900 the cheapests ones so far. Unless there's a suveyor out there reading this post that can offer a fantastic deal.

That's good to know. Thank you. We are hoping to get a builder to have a look beforehand and to go up into the loft. The problem is getting someone to do this for you when it's not your property. Some companies are asking £100+. I can understand this however, as it's their time and fuel...
