    Lagging CH pipes

I know CH copper pipes that run in unoccupied areas,loft/roofspace cellars etc should be lagged but I'm not sure if pipes that run under groundfloor floorboards should be. The floor is suspended about 3' above the ground so I would have thought the pipework would suffer heat loss. On the other...

    Drain pump wiring

Fitted the g+b wire to the terminal Marked L and it seems to work although the pumps bearing have failed so it's not very efficient and not draining sufficiently to allow machine to go to fast spin speed. Machines a pain to to pull out but I've ordered a new pump so when that arrives I will...

Just removed wiring from drain pump [red and green + black wire] on my hoover quattro system 1300 washing machine and I was sure the green + black wire went to the terminal marked L and the red to N but surely red is usually live and should go to L and green + black to N. Can someone please...

    HW vent pipe

Thanks for the input ChrisR and Gplumb but would it be better to do as Steve has recommended particularly the 450mm offset to avoid heat being lost through the vent. It's not to much trouble to change layout and I would prefer to achieve as near as possible to the optimum set up.

    HW vent pipe

Thanks again Steve, if I go straight to the vertical it only measures 270mm so will it be ok to put in a 90 degree bend to gain the extra length required. Yes I did buy a 3/4" to 22mm fitting for the pump pipe

Has our plumber put us in danger?

maybe but even if it is temporary the bottles have almost been squashed flat by the weight, surely there must of been some thing more solid knocking about. As an engineer myself there are some things you don't do no matter how temporary, but everyone has different standards.
