Boiler Options for low flow rate mains

Doesn't really matter where the cylinder is, as long as the cold water storage tank which feeds it (presuming its not a fortic cylinder) is in a suitable position ( ie higher than it and any outlets, and not in the way of your current plans) Could you not reposition the cylinder anywhere...

    Greenstar Camray 18/25

2 radiators get hot when hot water is on. Sounds like reverse circulation. i;e The return pipe for these 2 radiators are tee'd in in between the return from the hot water cylinder, and the boiler. The D2 pipework doesn't appear to be correct, not stepped up 1 size and no tundish as previously...

    EXPERIENCED Plumber Question

Any other gas appliances on the same supply? As for re-pipe. The main run's should be in 22mm, 15mm can come off this to feed 2 or 3 radiators, depending on size and distance. Depending on the pipework there at the moment, it may only require a couple of lengths of 22mm installed to make a...

Boiler Options for low flow rate mains

Hi, Where did you have in mind siting a megaflow? Would it be suitable siting a vented cylinder in the same spot? That would be my first recommendation if suitable.

    EXPERIENCED Plumber Question

The boiler will be circulating the closer rad's until the return temperature reaches what it is set to on the boiler. The rad's further away will not have reach a suitable temp by this time so you then wait until the return temp drop's enough for the boiler to kick in again and the process...

    EXPERIENCED Plumber Question

Also, just to add, do you have thermostatic radiator valves? That would explain the inconsistant heating, as they shut down it allows more flow to other radiators etc? Balancing will have a very limited benefit. Sam

    EXPERIENCED Plumber Question

Hi, 15mm pipe, as a general rule of thumb, should be used to supply 15,000 btu's worth of heating. So your 1 large radiator is half of that. Without sounding patronizing, are you sure it is a 2 pipe system? It does sound like typical symptom's of a 1 pipe system, and I have seen many 1...

Worcester Heatslave 18/25 + Honeywell CMT927 wiring please

Hi, Only use the 1 live. Either take a 4 core from the boiler (L, N, A &B) or take L&N from the spur which supplies the boiler. HTH Sam

Worcester Heatslave 18/25 + Honeywell CMT927 wiring please

Sounds like a bit of a pontless exercise to me. Think it's 300mm from metallic objects but we have fitted hundred's in close proximity to the boiler itself and had no issues which would seem to be related to where the reciever is mounted.

Worcester Heatslave 18/25 + Honeywell CMT927 wiring please

Cmt927 is wireless isn't it? You wire the transmiter box near the boiler, then just screw the control panel ontot the wall, hey presto. No need to run wires to the hallway, just isolate and snip. Sam

Taken for a ride? Boiler swap

This makes me laugh. I'm sorry but your slagging this guy off for asking why someone wants to charge £1000 to hang a boiler and connect his pipework? I love the way everyone is trying to belittle him and make him think there is some good given power dished out to all RGI's. Basic plumbing...

Radiators colder at bottom hot at top

Sounds like the system has been piped ok if the water is clear after a full drain down. (feed and vent, pump position etc) How long does the system take to warm up to a reasonable temp? Have you got access to your gas meter? Could you identify what meter you have, U6 E6 G4 etc should be...

    New Speedfit pipe blocked

Are you sure there is not a chunk of fibreglass/loft insulation jammed in it somewhere? Never heard of a defective length of plastic pipe but I suppose it's possible :? Sam

    Gas rating appliance

Gas rating is a procedure used to measure the volume of gas consumed by an appliance in a set period of time. Using the reading taken at the meter you can then determine if the appliance is using the same amount as it was designed to. HTH Sam

installing central heating with a concrete floor

Most likely dropped down from above to feed downstairs radiators. Pipework would be surface or hidden away as much as possible. Doubt many companies would want to get involved in chasing concrete etc HTH Sam

    Connecting Gas Hob

Because there is a specific reason for fitting a flex to a cooker, infact you may not be able to fit one without. Cooker hose's aren't the 'flexible tap connector' of the gas industry, they are designed for a specific reason in mind. **************************it is a regulation we must...
