    Advice needed....garden landscaping

depends on how much you want to do yourself. firstly you need to get rid of all the rubble and other crap. then get some topsoil delivered to fill or level the appropriate areas and then seed or turf ontop of that.

Mini Digger Hire - do you need a licence?

last time I hired a bloke in a mini digger, he did all the work in a day and charge £180 all in. This was a few years ago mind. I've always been told it works out cheaper to hire someone with their own mini digger as they can often do the job in half the time due to their experience. Not sure...

    chasing in cables...

plasterboarding is very easy compared to wiring. If you are having wires in the wall then they need to be protected by the steel capping. You shouldn't need anything chasing into the wall as the browning and plaster should cover over the thickness of the wire unless you are having some heavy...

    laser measure

well its more expensive than the dle40 but that only has a 40m range, what do you want to (or can) measure over 40m for the DIY'er except the length of my garden but I won't be paying an extra £30 for the DLE70 just for 1 measurement.

    Sandblasting!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodablasting sandstone might be a bit too soft for sandblasting, depends on how good the stone is really. if its slightly soft and crumbly you might blast half your house away in which case soda blasting would be a good alternative. Or maybe just a jet washer?

    Sandblasting!

depends entirely on what the house is built out of. there is also soda blasting for more delicate stone work
