    Petrol Generator Help

If the genny is dead, a better option might be something along the lines of this: http://www.towsure.com/product/12240V_Power_Station_with_JumpStart_and_Inverter?catargetid=520002630000002094&cadevice=c&gclid=CjkKEQjwrLSdBRDYvIL0soO4vo0BEiQABALkqaBOPmSlwcEI0HtHVVkPgBWVIoNmYdu_iVCHc--whc3w_wcB...

    Energy Monitor Location/Suitability

I use a current cost, which allows you to connect it to the internet to monitor the usage throughout the day - it also measures temperature and can do gas usage, which is nice although I've not got the bits to do gas yet. My father has one too to measure his PV generation and usage.

Scolmore click flow connectors and daisy chaining

For additional connections to the load side, you can use adapters like this: http://www.click4electrics.co.uk/click-flow-ct300-250v-20a-4-pin-flow-hub-junction-box-p-305.html

    L to N and N to L?

But the regulation relates to Ferromagnetic enclosures and electromagnetic effects... The live and neutral single core cables appear to be passing through the metal casing via different holes. Edit: as RF says ^^

    Switch / fused spur combination

although, for what you're trying to do, a fish key switch would be a better option than the fuse:

    Terminating SWA in Meter Box?

Hmm, That was a consideration, but then I'd still need to join them, which would need to be accessible, so what ever happens it isn't going to be "pretty" inside.

    Terminating SWA in Meter Box?

Yes, I do now see his point and accept that I'm going to have to change it... Although I wish I had pictures of successful installations. So anyway, are there any smaller Metal clad fused swiches, or is a KMF + adaptable box my best bet?

    Terminating SWA in Meter Box?

That's along the lines I was thinking of, although you appear to have the tails exiting through different holes in the metal box?? Or have you just removed the whole of that side of it? Here's a picture of it - I admit it is tight, but the DNO said it would be fine and there is enough room...

    Terminating SWA in Meter Box?

I was thinking that, but they have to connect to something... The SF was in the top right, so right out of the way. I am guessing he was just being grumpy and playing by the book. Unfortunately if I'd been there we would probably been able to sort something out.

    Terminating SWA in Meter Box?

Good afternoon all, I'm after some suggestions from some of the more experienced sparks on Terminating SWA in the meter box. In the past I've used a Wylex 100A fused switch and never had a problem with the DNO or Meter operator. However, on this occasion the Meter operator has refused to...

Replacing old fuse board with a consumer unit

I'm not having a dig at you here and accept that you're doing this regardless. Presumably you are installing the new Consumer Unit in accordance with BS7671 and therefore will be testing it etc? That being the case, I would guess that the most the DNO is going to want is evidence that you...
