Central Heating Refill Valve Won't Turn

I am trying to top up a central heating system having taken a radiator off for painting. However, the black handled won't turn. I have applied enough pressure to it and it still wouldn't budge and I'm afraid of applying further pressure and maybe breaking it. Any ideas what's going on and how I...

    How best to level this?

Thanks for the response. I had thought of that but not just is the sand and cement idea more permanent but as I am doing it on my own it would be difficult to set the waste in place, check for leaks then to try and cement tray down whilst waste was connected. Maybe I am thinking about it wrong...

    How best to level this?

Hi guys, In the process of installing a shower tray and the floor needs levelled where the tray will be going but as the floor is divided by the waste flow that needs to stay, how do I make sure both sides are level with each other? All ideas welcome. Thanks.

How would you cut PVC pannnelling for this wall?

It's the curved bit at the top of the wall that concerns me for cutting the panels and also the installation on the edge strip due to the curve. Any ideas?

Advice on this wet room tray

Question: If I get a shower tray with a depth of 37mm and given there is already a 20mm recess cut out of the floor for the last tray, that leaves 17mm of the tray exposed above floor level. If a floor tile is 10mm thick, is it plausible a tiler could lay them on a bed of 7mm adhesive to keep...

Advice on this wet room tray

Thanks again mate. The issue with the old tray seems to be that it wasn't suited to the recess cut out of the floor and therefore had to be supported by make-shift packers. This is why I was experiencing the flex obviously.

Advice on this wet room tray

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you mate, but I have now removed the tray and can show you what was below it. In my humble opinion I think a shower tray could work here. Agree? Any advice? PS: "Why it's flexing is anyone's guess - could be it isn't supported the best below or just...

Hi guys, (Also posted in Plumbing section) Downstairs wet room with a 1300x820 wet room tray installed. The floor I lifted was a wet room vinyl floor but because of the design of the vinyl (curved at edges where it came up the wall) I decided to lift it. But now I am unsure what to do next...

    Draining my pressurised heating system

Thanks for the great tips! Really appreciate your time and effort in trying to assist. I wanted to drain the system as I am replacing a chrome towel rail with a black one and needed to remove the chrome nut that was used for the previous valve. But I found a workaround that didn't involve me...

    Draining my pressurised heating system

Hi all, Almost finished the re-plumbing of my wet room that I have planned to have tiled in the new year but I have one job left that I'd like to tackle before Santa comes. I need to drain the central heating system and once again require some advice. I assume the drain-off valve is that in...

What could I use to fill this?

The pipe is sheathed and was then just concreted over. All I did was chipped away at the concrete to move the pipe 45mm leftwards to fit a new towel rail. I have now just filled it with Bostik ready mix cement.

What could I use to fill this?

I had to dig up a bit around this radiator pipe to move it and now I want to cover it up again. There was a top layer of screed which I am not concerned about here as it’ll be tiling but the concrete was relatively easy to get out. I’d like to fill it with something similar in case I have an...

    Help with radiator pipe sleeves

Hey all, Can someone explain this set up to me? The way I see it is that the central heating pipes are 10mm PVC run inside a black flexible sleeve underground. Then as they come up to go into the radiators they are fixed into a 90º bracket of sorts then a 15mm sleeve clips into that and covers...
